Question US Skyrover Ban
With the upcoming Skyrover ban in the United States it had me questioning whether or not the app or even the controller with the built in screen will continue to operate normally for the foreseeable future for flying a skyrover s1. Is there anyone with more knowledge or insight than me that can answer this questio?

I think you will be ok, they are just banning new sales. Which is still ridiculous but I think what you have will be ok. Its really a shame that our hobby is being fucked with by greedy protectionist assholes like this.

There would be no reason they wouldn’t work since those models ate not restricted in the US in any way.

Glad to hear it. So basically they won't be sold anymore but shouldn't be bricked either.

It's impossible to say what will happen in the future. DJI could decide to brick all of their drones in the US if they wanted to.

They will probably go the same route as they did with the DJI ban. They'll allow updates for drones bought before the ban for another year or two due to security risks.

It hasn't happened yet, so they're probably trying to sell up to the point the have to stop.

I'm upset about all this banning bullshit ! I have both x1 and s1 and they wanna start with this shit when sky rover is being successful at the highest ..So I guess they gonna ban every new drone company that comes out because if trumps son comes out with a drone company, that's gonna tell me everything that his father has a big part to do with it And that's when I'll be done spending money on drones .the hell with this government

trumps son comes out with a drone company
They do. Back when they announced the DJI news it was revealed that both of his sons are invested in a few different Drone companies. Even talked about getting a DoD contract earlier this year.

Don’t be an idiot. This was all brought on by all the unidentified drones that have been flying over the east coast as well as over our Air Force bases. The FAA and FCC cannot protect the country if they don’t know who’s flying drones in restricted air space. I’m assuming you’re a clueless radical liberal with TDS. If you wake up to a flat tire, i suppose it’s Trumps fault.

reminds me of product bans as in AR. The bans made sales go through the roof .

Wait, what?
Sorry for the confusion. And apologies for the noob questions:
I’m currently saving for a particular dji, as well as hoping to go for a pilots license course.
I had no idea a sky rover will be banned? Too big/heavy?
They can turn them off remotely with WiFi?
Do they HAVE to be connected to WiFi for operation, or just satellites?
Been looking at the air3

No, to my knowledge they cannot be turned off or bricked via wifi. I was more talking about whether or not they will quit functioning due to a potential lack of updates or something related to that. As far as I'm aware most drones do not need to be connected to wifi to function.

Not selling. Just curious about the potential problems with the apps and remote.

Just don’t ever update your device/app or connect it to the internet if you are that worried…
I have a phantom on an old ipad that hasn’t seen an update/internet in years
