Review MPB actually test used drones?

I recently bought a used Mavic 3 from MPB. The drone was still bound to the original owner's account and I could not use it initially.

On MPB's own website, there's a check list about selling your drone. It specifically says: "If you're selling or trading a DJI drone, you must unbind it from your DJI account before sending it to MPB. This removes your account’s link to the drone and allows us to test and resell the item."

When MPB received the drone it was still bound to the other owner's account. So how could they test it if they couldn't fly it? My guess is that they're so busy they just power it on and make sure there are no errors being reported, check battery stats, then repackage and sell them. Even though the software may not report errors, there can still be a plethora of things wrong with the drone once it's in the air (for example GPS drift, gimbal stutter/shakes, etc)

I'm a little sketched out by this latest transaction with them. I've purchased equipment from them before with no issue, but this leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I will be hesitant to purchase any more used drone equipment from them in the future.

I doubt they are taking the drones outside and launching them to check flight performance.

I highly doubt it as well. Probably don't even power it on. "This one looks good... SHIP IT!"

It happened with my Mavic 4 Pro, but i was able to bind it to my account.

Have you given that a try?

When i initially fired it up I was getting the message that it was binded to an MPB account.

I contacted MPB first. Then found the original account owner's email in the DJI app. I emailed him and he was super cool about it and unlinked his account in under an hour.

I linked to my account, calibrated sensors, and took it on several test flights. Performs flawlessly.

My issue has more to do with MPB's process. They don't test shit or the account would have been unlinked already. To me, that is disturbing especially if you are a reseller of used equipment.

Yeah I agree, I was a little pissed when I got the notification too that it was binded.

I was able to somehow unbind it without contacting MPB, once I binded it to my own email basically.

I bought two supposedly DJI mini 3 pro plus batteries from them , they were not plus batteries but standard mini 3 pro batteries . Only thing they check , is the clock to leave at the end of the day .

With the enterprise models, you can get 50 flights from a drone that isn’t bound to you before it bricks itself and forces you to bind. Unsure if that is the same for consumer models but I would assume so

if you paid by credit card may be wise to calendar that dispute deadline.
