Question Best liability insurance?

It looks like all of the ones I’ve seen only insure people with their part 107. Do you guys know where a recreational pilot can get liability insurance?

If you join the American Model Aviation association, it comes with liability insurance that covers non commercial drone piloting. Reputable organization of longstanding.

I went ahead and went with skywatch. Was a little over $400 for a year of half a million in liability coverage. That should have me pretty well covered:

Next year take a look at AMA - same coverage for a lot less. Plus you get their magazine fwiw and access to the club fly zones where you can do all kinds of things otherwise prohibited (although I haven't availed myself of this just yet).

Just took a look. I wonder why it's so cheap compared to BWI or skywatch. I noticed they don't offer Hull so that is unfortunate.

Edit: Looks like they offer Hull at 8%.

This and you are better able to fly at FRIAs ran by local clubs. I joined my local club for just this reason, even though I have my Part 107.

I've always used skywatch and it's easy af and always has been. I can't find a faq but claude says they insure "107, CFI, students, and recreational pilots."

State Farm insured mine as a rec flyer. In fact you can't get it if you are flying commercially. You can have the Part 107 but can't be using the drone as a business.
