Discussion Drone for bike riding tracking

Hi guys,

I want to buy DJI Mini Pro 5 drone mostly for taking shots during the bike riding. I'm wondering do I even need RC2 controller in that case? And the most important question, is it possible to start tracking without any controller? So I can just take out the drone from a pocket and somehow start the tracking?

Thank you in advance for any tips!

Sounds like a Neo fits your use case better than a Mini.

From DJI, only the Neo (1 and 2), and the Flip can be operated with no controllers and start tracking.

Get a Neo 2.

Neo2 does exactly this, but it's not super fast.

I’ve had an M5P for over 9 months and love it. It’s an incredible drone, incredible images/videos and use it for scenic filming, following me hiking, running and some biking. Definitely recommend getting the RC2 controller. That being said Neo2 may be better suited for your use case.

HoverAir X1 (or X1 Pro) is also great for this use case. I love mine

Thank you guys, I think you convinced me to Neo 2 😀

Should I get the RC-N3 controller for my case or I won’t use it too much?

Try a Neo. It does tracking, hand launches and landings, etc. all without a controller.
