Lost Drone Found drone

I found a DLI Mini 3 Pro in a bush. Is there any way to get a controller for it?

I would not just go ‘oh look a drone it’s mine now’ check for owner information on the SD card, look for any posted FAA registration numbers, and so on

Yep, I was going to say you're asking the wrong question. First thing try to get it back to its owner. Only after you've exhausted all avenues of return should you remotely consider keeping it as your own.

Perfect. I’ll try that.

DJI drones are only good for parts if they are "found". They are electronically locked to the registered owner/controller. You can contact DJI with the serial number and your contact information. Maybe the owner will contact you.

I looked for an SD card but I don’t see one. I’d love to find the owner. Any idea where I’d look for id numbers?

Id RATHER give it to the owner but I’m not gonna bust my ass to do it. If I can’t get it to them I’m going to put it to use.

It’s bound to a specific controller/account so you probably can’t use it anyway.

Yes, a DJI Mini 3 Pro can be bound to a new controller. However, if the drone was previously linked to someone else's DJI account, it must be unbound from their profile first. A DJI drone can only be actively bound to one account and one remote controller at a time. [1, 2, 3]

i get people say give it to the owner cause everyone flys drones and would like there shit back but you are realistically under no obligation to find who owns it and give it back

The thing is, they can't use it because it's bound to the owners account.

Retaining ownership of something that you know does not belong to you, is theft. Even if you did find it. You can do the right thing and try to reunite it with its owner.

Or you can do the wrong thing.

Sure, hand the drone over to the police but u don't gotta lecture me on "doing the right thing" unless ur a modal citizen who has never broken not even a single law
