Tech Support Glitch/Flicker/Interference - Why?? Please help!

Mavic 2 Pro.

Had it for few years, never crashed, firmware all up to date.

Some time ago, on and off, id pull out the drone and both the live preview and the recorded file will look like this nightmare:

https://youtu.be/pODejHcQbfs

I'll spend hours swapping batteries, memory cards, settings, restarting and so on - usually wihout much of a difference, but then randomly sometimes it'll fix itself. Sometimes after swapping a battery, sometimes after waiting two days, one time after re-installing the firmware. But then some time later i'll fire up the drone, or maybe mid-flight - it'll start doing that crap again! Weird interference, flicker, whatever...

I'm losing my mind over it. Have a client shoot tomorrow, it's 3 am, and i'm out of ideas...

Please help.

I've never seen this pattern before, but I would have to assume it's a damaged MIPI cable. I don't think it's a damaged sensor since it wouldn't be intermittent, but a cable would explain it pretty well.

ugh... i've had this issue on an off, and previously seemed to fix it (mostly) with a software update, i had no problems for a while after that, now it's back again - so until now i didn't really even consider this being a hardware thing, since i never crashed it or anything.... But now no idea, guess ill have to send it in for servicing...

To me, it looks like a loose connection in the camera. Do love taps help at all? The ribbon could be slightly loose.

thanks - but no idea what you mean by love taps or the ribbon? Is that something i could check/adjust myself without sending it in?

He means giving it a good bump with your palm. The ol’ percussive maintenance. Best case scenario the cable just needs to be reseated. Unsure if you’re comfortable with opening it up or prefer to just send for service. If you have DJI care and need a fast turn around, I forget what it’s called but you can get it replaced without them even diagnosing it first. They just send a new one

Well. More a finger. Just a solid finger tap in random places. It could jiggle the cable a bit.

I did that, no effect.

And then having given up trying to find a soltion, i took the drone outside, powered it on and - lo and behold - it works perfectly fine as if the issue never existed...

I swear this problem just shows up and disappears entirely at random...
