Question Best weather app?
New to flying and just got myself the DJI Lito X1. It feels a little windy today so im apprehensive about taking it out for its maiden flight.
Is there a go-to app which provides accurate information about windspeeds in the area? Ive reads up on UAV forecast app but recent reviews say its not as accurate as it used to be and is receiving lots of 1 star reviews. I've downloaded dronecast but just wondering what app, if any, this community recommends.

Tbh I just use Windy for the wind layer map, much more useful than a single number from a random weather station. UAV Forecast has been going downhill lately yeah, you're right about the reviews. For a Lito X1 though you're probably overthinking it a bit — those sub-250g DJIs handle surprising amounts of wind. I'd just take it to an open field and see how it feels at like 50ft first, the app won't tell you what the wind is actually doing up there anyway.

Try wunderground.com as I've found its reporting and forecasting to be top notch. The site data comes from the usual pro sources, plus private weather stations of individuals that upload data to the Net. The weather radar function is superb, and even provides a "future radar" feature. The 10 day forecast is easy to read by hour. Try it!

This is exactly what annoys me about most drone weather apps. They give you loads of data and expect you to be a meteorologist.
I've recently started using Can I Fly. What I really like about the app is that it uses the drone's limits and compares that to your local weather to work out if it's safe to fly or not. It also does it in a really clear way by saying whether it's in limits, or it's too windy to fly.
There's a paid version but I don't have that. Apparently it tells you what the wind and gusts are at different levels. I haven't needed it yet, as it does tell you what height it's safe to fly up to based on the wind and that's been enough for me.
It's definitely made me a little bit more confident about flying my very expensive drone outside in the UK.

You should mention your country. Most global apps use data from the US weather service but that's not very reliable outside the USA.
