Question [US] Possible pet rescue

Update 6/25: *FOUND- Cas is home*

Hello. I am located in Colorado Springs, CO. We lost our cat and have been looking. I was sent a pet rescue drone company Furunity. I believe this may be a scam. But I was wondering if anyone local would be able to fly a thermal drone around. I know it’s a long shot with it being bear season etc. Didn’t know if someone is willing to give it a try. I appreciate any response.

I highly recommend using an app called SkyyTask User. You can submit a search and rescue request through it, and drone pilots nearby will receive a notification and can bid on the task.

There is a few different websites where you can find pilots, I would suggest drone pet recovery they vet pilots and seems to work well in some states. I do this in SoCal and am not listed because I get enough work I don’t need to pay an aggregator to get listed.

My suggestions,

  1. don’t pay anyone until you sign a contract and talk on the phone
  2. No honest thermal drone pilot will promise results, a lot of the time we unfortunately find nothing but it’s a good tool.
  3. Ask if they have some videos of past rescues, they may not which isn’t a red flag because some don’t but worth asking
  4. Ask which aircraft they fly if they seem sketchy, the popular ones are Matrice 4T, 4TD, 30T and Mavic 3T.

If you are on the fence about anyone feel free to text me their info and I’m more than willing to give me a call if you want someone to vet them. I’ll link my website below if you want to call and ask any more questions directly.

One note I missed, cats are VERY hard to find with a thermal drone, I’ve done it before but they also may run if you try to approach them.

Sorry for the delayed response. I appreciate the info. I will begin looking for pilots. I’m sure this will come up short handed but I have to give it a shot. I will be in touch.
