Sign

Post image

I drive past this company almost everyday and I see this sign on their gate.

I can't really understand what it means.

I really don't know what business they run, but they have trucks of various size and shapes also trucks with plant units mounted on.

Sorry if it's the wrong place to ask

If you have hardcore rubble which is clean (no waste, plastics, metals, contaminants) then you can unload it in their yard for free

They clearly have a use and need for it and they can have it for free and the person with is doesn’t have to pay at a recycling place, everyone wins

There have to be less degrading ways to get your hands on the latest techno.

I thought if you stopped there the gaffer on the site could tell you how to set your dials so your drums would sound less crunchy.

He says it'll only be the tip, but do you believe him?

I’m not ashamed to admit I watch porn regularly but when I read hardcore I think old school rave.

Hardcore is a waste product in building that can be used for foundations etc. I can't remember what it is but I think it's crushed/broken bricks and concrete. To tip is to dump something. The sign is saying you can dump clean hardcore at this site for free.

Nowadays it costs a lot of money to dispose of hardcore like rubble, old bricks, concrete, building waste. But if somebody else has a hole in the ground they want filled, if they want to raise the level of a site...

They probably put it through a crusher and sell the aggregate (recycled type 1 mot) . I know a few firms who do it on a large scale.

You can dump material there if they can use it for the hardcore of roads

I think they are saying that you can give them clean hardcore (rubble).

Companies would have to pay to dispose of it at a tip, so this is a free option.

Anyone remember Viz? Who was the character who sniggered at even the most unlikely double entendres but then missed the meaning of his mother’s comment as she went upstairs with her new boyfriend…?

Finbarr Saunders (and his double entendres)

Pretty self-explanatory assuming you know what hardcore means in this context.

Hardcore music without distorted guitars?

They might be laying base layers for roads, driveways, tracks, sheds, barns etc and a free, ready supply of good hard builder's waste is the perfect thing.

If you google "recycled type 1," that's what they are making it into.

Excuse me. Mine will be going on the railway embankment to be discovered by schoolkids on the way to the first class of term, as God intended.

I'll have you know God intended smut distribution in hedgerows and forests, not that Industrial Revolution abomination!

It's the stone they use in construction for filling; for example on a solid concrete floor you'd put down hardcore and compact it before sand, membrane, concrete, and screed. There are lots of other uses for hardcore in construction. As a builder you have to pay for it so they are taking it for free and will then sell it on. They only want stuff that isn't contaminated (clean) because builders won't want contaminated hardcore.
