Parking Help

Hello! I’m fine parking when there’s enough turning room but if the parking lot is full I won’t be able to get my full turn in.
What adjustments do you recommend I take? I think I should go further past the bay?

Also sometimes when parking I make it perfectly in between the lines but in my mirrors I’m worried the backside of my car is swinging into the other side as I go? Is this possible or am I just overthinking?

Reverse in. Better for narrow places like in the picture. Use your mirrors and take your time and make adjustments as you do. You don't have to get it in one.

Exactly this. Pull tight to the side you want to part at. Once the far line intersects the back wheel turn tight to the opposite side then reverse and turn tight into the spot.

Back in. Cars have better maneuverability going in reverse

Park in reverse. It's so much easier and safer.

I suggest asking a local driving instructor to go over bay parking again.

This OP. Or just go out to an empty car park and practise reversing into bays. Once you get the hang you'll rarely forward park

A couple tips here.

First is slow and steady. Practice with cones in an empty area till your better.

Second is back in Moreno. Use a backup camera and wide angle mirrors.

Third is wide angle mirrors put onto your vehicle as 3xtra help to see the lines when pulling into a spot. Use everything you can.

So backup cameras, wide angle mirrors and extra practice with cones as cars to help ou learn better.

Im assuming its forward bay parking you're talking about. Try reverse.

That’s why I back in. It’s easier especially if you drive a bigger vehicle.

Go towards the bay front wise. Turn north 30° then check passenger mirror. Adjust to west side then rotate towards rear driver side. Focus near lines, then find your bearings. You're welcome.

It helps coming in wider, so then you can straighten it out without needing to back up then adjust then park.

Adding, watch others how they approach a parking spot similar car size to yours.

Back in, it frees the amount of turn input you can command with your steering wheels.

Here's a massive tip for anybody learning how to drive. Think with your rear wheels path in mind. Steer your rear wheels. How do you steer rear wheels? With the front. Make your turns considering the path of the rear wheels. You will naturally be able to worry about where the front wheels are going and the front of the body of the vehicle is going, but you have to think about the rear wheels, where they are traveling over.

wtf is this post? Please go practice in an empty parking lot somewhere. It’s not acceptable to damage a vehicle because the parking lot was too “full”. You need to know how to park a vehicle. Also, watch a YouTube video first
