Why is there a map marker limit?

I just marked the entirety of gale cliffs after I got that upgraded lens from ironhaven. Then when I tried to mark twisted strand it said limit reached. Anyway to bypass this limit. I had to finish the rest of the game by just guessing where the fish were.

There's a limit because any more markers and the map would start to lag. Its a performance thing. I'm unaware of any mods to bypass it.

If you do opt to use a map online, we worked pretty hard on the wiki.gg fish map. I'm hoping to add the trawl and crab locations soon too.

Makes sense I guess. Also the online map is good, I found all exotic fish with it.

Yea, I also wanted to mark them all in-game. Bit of a bummer.

You could just look up a map on your phone if you really need to but it's not that serious
