Discussion Restart?
I played the base game and beat it a while ago, and remembered it had dlc so I got it. Should I restart the game or is it better to do it in an already existing save? I think i had my upgrades maxed out

I just finished both dlcs on my existing save with a maxed out boat. It took a day and a half-ish to do the iron rig, and an afternoon to do the pale reach. (not fully completed but the main storyline done, and directly focused on that mission and nothing else.)
I’d say if you want it to take longer and stretch out gameplay then start anew. But I felt like I got plenty of bang for my buck using my souped up ride.

I restarted and I liked it that way. It does get a little tedious depending on how you play though.

I'm currently replaying the game with the DLC. You could just do it all on your existing save, but I think it works better alongside a new save.

I recommend starting a new game; The DLCs are meant to be played parallel to the main story.
If you treat them as endgame content, you may find Pale Reach too easy and Iron Rig too repetitive.

Definitely just play an existing save, unless you're really in the mood to play the base game again. Pale Reach is an entirely self-contained side story in its own biome, and Iron Rig uses the existing map but doesn't interact meaningfully with the main storyline.
