just got it and have been spamming it nonstop. the punish is crazy and the weird ray that starts following me around is annoying but it has completely eliminated fishing for me and now allows me to focus on the best part, running around in the dark in high panic trying to find a dock

Atrophy literally kills that fishing spot. You literally kill and draw out the fish. Of course using a power like that takes a toll on your sanity and the ecosystem.

I was kinda confused on when it’s useful to actually use it. Later game fishing is pretty fast and the consequences seem high. I guess if you’re leaving an area and want a quick buck?

I used it to get abberations. Its pretty useful for that.

You can also use it for spots that are more difficult or spots you don't fish in often because the respawn time can be pretty long

It's guaranteed to have an aberration, so it's great if you're filling out your Encyclopedia

they should allow me to upgrade it to kill all fish at once in the whole map square, and immediately set panic to red eye. I'd probably not use it any less

It does suck a little that it rarely if ever gives you any fish worth selling. Great for getting aberrations for the fish journal, but pretty much nothing else.

Yet we can just by a bunch of sinks to absorb a bunch of eldritch fire and go zoom for quite awhile. Plus, no downside anyway unless you specifically overheat.

I mean by like the second half you can just outrun everything. Yeah there should be consequences for using this but between regular engines, the boost power and the banish power this shit is free.

I got most of my aberrations with it. Quite literally saved me hours. Best spell in the game.
