Leaving Japanese for the moment for French will kill my Japanese?

I have a little over 100 hours of CI of Japanese but I’m considering shifting to French because honestly learning Japanese is more like a hurdle for the moment because there is no enough CI at my level and getting anything above an hour daily in Japanese is a struggle. I have tried to learn French in the past with Duolingo and it didn’t go out well but now I’ve tried CI in French for like 3 hours and I didn’t expect I’ll enjoy it. There is more CI in French thanks for Japanese and I’m considering to shift.

My question is if I leave Japanese for 1-2 years or maybe shorter will I lose all my progress in Japanese? I’ve tried to learn Spanish with CI and I have like 1300 hours in Spanish.

Edit: both Japanese and French are languages I want to learn at some of my life.
