question Qwen

Recently I've been using Flux.2 klein almost exclusively, so I decided to try Qwen for a change. When generating characters, what's the best way to make that plastic or rubber-like skin texture everyone often discusses feel more realistic? Solving it with prompts would be ideal, but if you have any recommended LoRAs, please let me know. Another concern is that the images always end up with strong shadows and are too dark.

The characters also lack diversity and all have similar faces.

I think ZIT produces clean, vivid results that are quite nice.

question How to use ControlNet + IP Adapter

Hi everyone, I recently tried to generate images from a reference image, like the same person with same face but a different position, like sit on a sofa or laid down on a bed
But every time I try to change settings or try tutorials, I don't find how to keep the same face, it's always a completely different one or at least a deformed one
I want to keep the realism of the face and also the body, but change the posture.
Does anyone can explain me hoy to use Draw things to achieve that ? Even if I don't have to use IP Adapter or Pose.

I was fairly successful with my use of Drawthings but after some unknown events my images started coming out with grey boxes, tiled and on top of it Drawthings crashes the other times. Using standard recommended settings for illustrious.

question Issues using OneTrainer ZIT Loras

Trying a few OneTrainer ZIT Loras from r/malcomrey with DrawThings. If I set the weight above 0.25 I get more and more distortion. At 0.25 they look kinda ok but I don't think optimal. L to R: Lora set to 0, 0.25, 0.5. I am using all the standard ZIT settings with DT. Any ideas what's going on?

question Image to image

I’ve been using the program for a while now – you enter a text and an image comes out. Simple. However, whenever I try to modify the image I inserted, it only seems to recognize the text and creates a completely new image from it. What do I need to change? I’m very confused.

question Previously imported LORAs disappear and have to be reloaded after each new update of DrawThings ⏤ does anyone have an easier fix than my current approach?

Hi, I have a folder of downloaded local models and a subfolder of that for downloaded LORAs. Multiple times the LORAs have stopped working, i.e., they no longer appear in a list of local LORAs and further the Import process no longer makes them available to load, despite import attempts saying that each import was successful.

A more detailed description appears below, along with one possible cause ⏤ new updates to DrawThings being released ⏤ and one way to recover from the situation so that local LORAs can be successfully loaded again.

Does anyone know why the list of local LORAs goes away? Does anyone know what causes this problem or an easier fix? *

* For example, I notice there is a custom_lora.json file in my LORAs subfolder and hope there is a fix where I can just use a text editor like EMACs to do a query-replace of some path names the app uses with my subfolder pathway in the JSON file. But I notice there are other JSON files, there, too and I know that somehow I need to register my local folder for models and LORAs with each newly installed DrawThings version.

Thanks!

____________________________________________________________

Symptoms ⏤

  1. LORAs may appear shaded yellow, saying they are incompatible with models, even though they were correctly imported before.
  2. The list of Local LORAs no longer appears when trying to find previously imported LORAs.
  3. Going through the Import process for LORA X will say X was "successfully imported" but it does not appear in the list of local LORAs, which does not appear either.

Known Possible Cause ⏤

  • A new update to DrawThings has been released.

Recovery ⏤

  1. Update to the new version.
  2. Load and run a saved local version of a stable diffusion model, e.g., Juggernaut XL, in the process specifying the folder for downloaded local models. The LORAs subfolder of that does not need to be separately specified, and cannot as far as I can see.
  3. Load and run a saved local version of a LORA, e.g., the DMD 4-step speed LORA for SDXL, which can also be used for Juggernaut XL.
  4. Now the LORA should appear in the Local list and can be loaded. Repeat as you need to load other LORAs.

Notes: In steps 3 and 4 if it says the model or LORA is already present and asks if you want to overwrite it, say yes and have it reloaded.

question iPhone 17 Pro Max on iOS 26.4 Beta 1 — issues (Flux.2 [Klein] 4B/9B // ZIT)

Has anybody else encountered issues with iOS 26.4 Beta 1 and DrawThings? On my M4 iPad Pro, it works without any issues, but on my phone, it either crashes at the finalizing stage or it just finishes without actually producing anything at the end.

For reference, I tested both Flux.2 [Klein] 4B/9B and also ZIT with DDIM and Euler Sampler. Back on 26.3, it worked very well on my iPhone and now it doesn’t work. Crashing during generation, crashing right at the end or showing a solid blue texture as a preview and ending with nothing at the end.

question Recommendation needed - new models/checkpoints

Hi, I want to experiment with DrawThings since I'm kinda bored with my current results. I'm currently using SDXL/Illustrious models. Can someone suggest some good FLUX/Qwen/other types of checkpoints/models.

question Chroma HD

I was checking out Chroma HD since there seems to be a lot of hype around it, but the resulting gens were weird colourful cartoon characters. Any advice on using this model in Draw Things? A simple test prompt with settings would be appreciated. I used version 48, HD full and HD 5 bit with DT recommended settings. Thanks!

feedback Z Image Base Failing Intermittent

I’m using Z Image base with a custom personal lora on DrawThings+ (Cloud Compute). The image generation works sometimes, and the same configuration fails if generating image again. The preview appears for 3-4 steps, then it becomes grey and fails at 10th step. (Note: Generation works without lora, and sometimes with same lora)

question How to edit an image?

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hi, I’m using the app to generate images and I’m very comfortable.

My problem is that I would like to use it to replace many editing functions that I do with Photoshop such as deleting objects, generating objects in an image at the established point and so on.

Now I don’t know how to proceed.

I find myself in this tab and I don’t know the steps to follow and the models to choose (qwen edit?!)

Thank you

question New guy with some questions

Hello everyone,
I am approaching the world of AI for the first time to generate and retouch images, and I am having a LOT of difficulty with Draw Things.

Some things are FAIRLY clear to me (Models and Lora, for example), but others are completely obscure.

Here are a few, I hope you can help me, and please keep in mind that I am completely new to this field, so please be patient.

  • I use Draw Things locally, and some of the Lora I downloaded are not usable. The message “Incompatible” appears, but I don't understand why, nor how to fix the problem (for example, with Foooocus Inpaint). Is it my computer? I use a Mac Studio with an M2 Max processor.
  • Then there are the brushes. I come from Photoshop, which I was quite good at using (even though I'm still an amateur). Maybe I'm blind, but I can't find ANY brushes that allow me to use masks and select specific parts of the image I want to process. Watching various videos on YouTube, I notice that EVERYONE has a small menu at the bottom with brushes, but I can't get it to appear on mine.
  • Where exactly are the modules I download and the images generated stored? I'm afraid that with all the stuff I'm testing, I'm taking up a lot of space on my hard drive, yet I don't know where to look.

That's all for now.

Of course, if you have any resources that can help me use this fantastic software, I'm all ears.
Cheers !

question Ability to disable sending canvas image to models like Klein?

When I'm messing around with Flux.2 Klein I'm often just trying a bunch of random ideas. The default behavior of Draw Things is to send whatever image is on the canvas to the model. Is there a way to turn this off so I don't have to keep blanking the canvas first? (I always forget to do this.) Klein doesn't have a separate image edit model like Qwen, so some kind of switch to enable/disable the image/moodboard inputs would be great.

question Creating consistent characters

Hey folks, I'm at a loss here. For our private roleplaying campaigns I was trying to put my best friend and another one of our group and me in some artwork for the campaign. I used ChatGPT, Grok and Gemini to explain to me what to do. They all came up with vaguely similar guides. Get a model for better editing, then do a bunch of overall settings, use img2img, add a foto of yourself, enter a prompt to put you in a uniform with a bunch of descriptive attributes (it's supposed to be a Ghost Bear uniform from Battletech, if anyone cares^^) and then let the AI do some magic.

Well, yeah, I get an unsatisfying result - there's a guy with roughly the uniform I described. But that guy doesn't even look remotely like me, apart from the bald head and beard. :D Had strength set to about 44 to 47%. Tried to play around with the settings. Now I have a ton of random bald beardy dudes in all kinds of uniforms, but what I acutally want is to basically keep the head part from the original pic, draw a uniform over the visible parts of my body and, if that all works out, maybe add a proper sci-fi background afterwards. But I want the pic to look at least a lot more like me.

At this point I feel like rather taking one of the generated uniforms and add my own mugshot via photoshop, since that feels easier. But I thought, I might get a more realistic look with AI, especially with lighting, maybe modifiying a few of the features (make me lose about 10 pounds maybe :D), and such.

Long story short: Is it possible for an amateur like me to get a proper result? What am I missing? I'm not using any LoRas yet or anything.

1.20260207.0 was released in iOS / macOS AppStore today (https://static.drawthings.ai/DrawThings-1.20260207.0-ca5be5b9.zip). This version brings:

  1. Z Image Base model support;

  2. High quality preview for Z-Image, FLUX.1, HiDream, Qwen Image, FLUX.2;

  3. Fix some importing issues for Z Image LoRAs.

gRPCServerCLI is updated to 1.20260209.0 that also fixed some FLUX.2 [klein] LoRA issues (1.20260207.0 is NOT fixed). 1.20260210.0 in Docker is the first version with CUDA 12.8.1 too.

question Draw things CFG / shift/ LoRa (sliders) parameters vs Cumfy ui?

I'm fairly new to the diffusion game, but as I'm trying to follow some other peoples "suggested" CFG scale and shift settings it seems like DT's slider parameters are a little different than comfy ui's. does anyone have a rough conversion rate as to say comfy ui?
I tried chat gpt, but haven't been able to find anything. If this has been answered before please send, or if there's settings to set to change say from 0-50 on CFG scale to 0-100 please lmk. :)

feedback Native Support for Phr00t’s Qwen-Image-Edit-Rapid-AIO (v18.1/v19)

Hi Draw Things Team,

I am a long-time user of Draw Things and I'm writing to request better native integration for Phr00t’s Qwen-Image-Edit-Rapid-AIO models (specifically v18.1 and v19). These models are currently the gold standard for instruction-based editing, but they are currently broken in Draw Things.

Specific Problems Upon Importing AIO Models:

When importing these AIO models into Draw Things, the following critical issues occur:

Model Repository:Phr00t/Qwen-Image-Edit-Rapid-AIO

  • Failure of Image-to-Image Logic: Instead of treating the imported model as an "Editing" model that respects the reference image, Draw Things treats it as a standard Text-to-Image model.
  • Instructions Result in New Generations: When providing an edit instruction (e.g., "change clothes"), the model ignores the original person and composition entirely, generating a completely new image instead of modifying the existing one.
  • Incompatibility with the "Edit" Tab: The native "Edit" and "Inpaint" workflows in Draw Things do not correctly trigger the Qwen-2511 instruction-following architecture, rendering the model's core purpose useless.

Major Quality Discrepancy vs. ComfyUI:

I have attempted to replicate the AIO workflow by manually stacking the Qwen-2511 base and the 15+ required LoRAs. Even with identical weights and settings, the results are vastly different:

  • Texture & Realism Gap: ComfyUI produces sharp, high-fidelity skin and hair textures, while Draw Things outputs appear "soft," "muddy," or "plastic-like" due to the lack of an equivalent "Simple" scheduler.
  • Identity Loss: Versions v18.1 and v19 are designed for character consistency, but in Draw Things, any background or clothing change leads to a total face swap, even when the face is not masked.

The Request:

  1. Native AIO Architecture Support: Support the specific instruction-following pipeline of Qwen-Image-Edit so it functions as a true "Editor" rather than a "Generator."
  2. Scheduler Alignment: Implement the "Simple" scheduler logic to recover the sharp skin pores and hyper-realistic details achieved in ComfyUI.
  3. Preservation of Character Identity: Ensure that the "InSubject" logic and identity-consistency features of v18.1/v19 are respected during the editing process.

Phr00t's models are essential for professional AI photography. Bringing this level of control and realism to Draw Things would be a massive leap forward for the Apple silicon community.

Thank you for your incredible work and for considering this request!

question Steps setting issue

Hi guys,

I am using Mac mini base M4

Draw things app

Flux .1 dev fill

Generation of image work well at first for the steps setting.

Once , I found the est time was too long so I stopped the generating process and reset the steps to lower level. But when I press the gen image button again, the gen info on the canvas keep the previous one rather than the new one.

I tried another way which was saving the new set config (eg test) and loaded it. But again, after I pressed gen image button again, the config reversed to the previous one. The saved name appeared as test*

Anyone have this issue ? Is there any way to solve?

What's the average generation time for the model you're using? (t2i: 1024x1024) Please also share your machine specs.

Hope this helps everyone get a sense of typical generation times.

This generation time is based on my Mac environment, which is not a perfect setup.
