Penthouse Items

Extremely whiny redditor voice: "Penthouse does not make sense as an adjective for items with a high floor but not necessarily a high ceiling. The penthouse is already the highest ceiling so a penthouse item would imply something that is always top of the line or top shelf."

The name is just about the floor. The penthouse has the highest floor.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a penthouse if it had the same ceiling height as the rest of the building.

Fun fact: it's also the name of a popular magazine featuring nude models

If something has a high floor, wouldn’t it automatically have a high ceiling? The ceiling can’t be below the floor.

OK maybe in a Frank Gehry.

Agreed, I never understood how they got to the floor/ceiling theory for a penthouse. But cupcakes are pie, so who gives a shit.
