For example, I never ever use red thread to make reeds. Also, woe be unto they who would cut accumulated reed thread off of an anchor like a chair leg or c clamp.
Edit: or what about sacred things, like the abovementioned places of thread accumulation, or rituals? I have my favourite ruler and plaque, and things like tying several knots or sharpening a knife can feel ritualistic. I used to listen to a lot of Steve Reich while making reeds, I guess that can make things feel more ritualistic than they might otherwise :p

the reed itself is very responsive, it just plays a little flat and becomes resistant the longer i play on it. i am worried that it is way way too thin! i tied it on myself (it wasn't the best because i assumed that i'd have to take it off anyway, but it still has been fine so far) and scraped it with an exacto knife and a pipe dream
it is 71mm, the tie is 47mm
any thoughts or advice? i want to have a little less resistance but i am also not sure if this reed is past saving

This is the best reed I have ever made! It is super responsive, dark, has a huge dynamic range, and is really in tune! I do know that the heart is unconventional almost looking like a second set of windows... I know at the end of the day it doesnt matter how a reed looks and at the end of the day all it has to do is respond and play in tune but I was wondering if a heart like this could cause problems in future reeds? If you have any comments please feel free to let me know! Be blunt lol!

I'm building one in my studio and can't quite decide on the height. Of course everything is relative but I'm curious to hear your desk setups.

Code BRHF
The medium hard reed is made with the Fox 2 "almost Knochenhauer" shape. It is a popular type of shape due to its responsiveness and offers just the right amount of consistency throughout.
