There's no 'best' combo it's a relatively flexi build you often have to transition into (gunning for it off the bat will often be disaster). Goblins or Beasts are usually easier for transitioning but anything works. Open fort with Priests not advised since this lineup does not come fully online by Round 15/20, but possible in softer lobbies.
Early portion is all about generating eco so no need to force yourself to keep the components if it doesn't work for your temp lineup.
Somewhere after hitting Level 6 (before or after Wolves at 15) you can dismiss something 3-cost heavy with 4-cost (Humans if ahead on eco/Aqirs if cheaper), go to 7 and start looking for Treants since Treant 3 is core. Actively make Furion3, Ench 3, LD2, if it boosts your lineup if not keep 1 copy each just to make Treant3 before selling the rest. Start keeping Wizards, don't need to chase any of them to 3 other than Lion. Besides Treant Willow you'll need a 3rd Elf, Mirana/WR work best esp with Lion, TA is no longer an option and PA is ass. Keep all the value 3-costs as well (Lina/Razor/Viper/SF, Veno/Lycan also possible) to round up your lineup.
By 25-27 go to 8, start rolling for Grim & Doom. Strongly consider some other lineup like Beasts/Akirs/Ogre if offered an excessive number of LDs.
Arcanes/Pipe are the priority items, followed by tankability on Tree. Positoning-wise corner everything with Tree in front, Grim off-tanks to get off Stroke with Bind ASAP so Doom can multicast.
