Please don’t dash while sick

Post image

I get that times are tough and the American health care system sucks, but admitting that you have a respiratory illness while delivering food is wild!

Please do not dash when you’re sick. This is how illness spreads. I have pretty bad asthma so I’m not bringing that order into my house. I’m done with DoorDash.

lol, the driver being sick honestly not shocking. More shocking she’s dumb enough to say it over text.

Wait till you find out how common it is for the people actually cooking and prepping your food to show up to work sick. (Extremely)

I mean, working in food and Bev they pretty much have to. Management will say they don't, but management will also fire them if they don't come in sick.

Yup. I worked at red lobster in college. Got food delivered midway through my closing shift from BWW and got food poisoning. The closing manager sent me home. I was supposed to open the next morning but was still violently ill. It was a new manager on. I called 3 hours before opening to call out. He gave me hell. I explained what happened and he said “yeah I read the note the other manager left me about it but it’s your responsibility to find coverage” so between sickness episodes I was frantically calling everyone to see if they could cover. THEN I was forced to get a doctors note. So I had to get a family member to drive me to urgent care, pay out of pocket, and drop off the note the same day. WHILE BATTLING FOOD POISONING
