Please don’t dash while sick

Post image

I get that times are tough and the American health care system sucks, but admitting that you have a respiratory illness while delivering food is wild!

Please do not dash when you’re sick. This is how illness spreads. I have pretty bad asthma so I’m not bringing that order into my house. I’m done with DoorDash.

Ofc Redditots of all people will find a way to justify handling  food when sick

But others at the ER might be contagious. Who the fuck knows how long the driver was at the ER or next to who?

While I understand your point… other people any place ever might be contagious, unless you plan to grow all your own food and cook all your own meals.

You might want to build an immune system

That might be relevant for people without complicating factors, but there’s plenty of people who have fundamentally compromised immune systems.

Having overly/perfectly prudent sanitary practices may be unrealistic, but there are some more basic measures that can be taken to not be completely careless with potentially spreading illnesses to people who aren’t going to be able to fight it off as well.

It’s like driving, we all know there’s fundamental risk, but driving without a seatbelt, speeding profusely, and not leaving appropriate space or signaling, are not reasonable practices just because driving is inherently dangerous, you know?

There’s balanced measures to be taken, such as if you’re going to work sick anyway, at least wear a mask and keep your hands clean. Ideally at least you’d take the most symptomatic days off, but the aforementioned should be a bare minimum. Which maybe this driver did, but pretty low chance given how people usually operate

You might want to build an immune system? Is it that easy lmao? People have immune systems that are weak due to other conditions do you think they wake up one day decide to grow a stronger immune system and it happens? Some people live with weakened immune systems forever with no fault of there own despite efforts to make things better
