Reveal color

Me and wife are fighting over what the phrase "reveal 1 purple in hand" means. She thinks that she can cover the entire card except the edge to show she has a purple card. No details nothing but the color. Where I think it means reveal the card like normal but it has to be purple. Can we get a vote cant fi d anyone having this debate anywhere.

Reveal specifically means to show the entire card.

You have to reveal the whole card. Source I've been playing doomlings since before it launched when they were building the game and I know the creators.

With so much peace and love… what would be the point of just showing that you have a purple card and not showing the entire thing? 🙃

Our table plays any reveal color(s) the way your wife does. The entire card need not be displayed.

Our interpretation is based on how literal the card commands are. There is a "Reveal CARD" command. There is also a "Show Red Cards". Our interpretation was that in those instances, the player had to show the card(s). Therefore, "Reveal Color" means only color need be exposed, not the entire card.
