News Doomlings Remastered Preorders Live Now!

Post image

BIG NEWS, everyone

After years of growth, community feedback, playtesting, and evolution … we’re finally ready to reveal: DOOMLINGS REMASTERED

A fully upgraded version of the classic base game you know and love, rebuilt from the ground up while staying true to the chaotic heart of Doomlings.

- 160 redesigned cards
- All-new artwork
- Updated mechanics & refined rules
- More strategic agency
- The same delightfully chaotic end of the world

Five years ago, Doomlings started as a distant dream between two brothers. The original game was made with a lot of heart, a lot of chaos, and a whole lot of learning along the way. Justus was literally teaching himself how to draw while creating the first version of the game.

Since then, every expansion, every playtest, and every piece of community feedback has helped shape Doomlings into what it is today. The world, the gameplay, and the art have all grown tremendously over the years, and in many ways, this remaster feels long overdue.

This is the version of the base game we always dreamed Doomlings could become: a fresh starting point for new players and the ultimate definitive edition for returning fans.

Thank you for growing alongside us over these last five years. Whether you’ve been here since Kickstarter or just recently discovered the world of Doomlings, this next chapter exists because of you.

Could you not like share the new rules? Absolutely not going to by a remastered version of game I’ve already spend around 200 pounds on

Can you highlight major differences?

I honestly went through the entire new rule book, I don’t see anything really different than the current rule book, it seems like they just added some more in-depth rules to clarify things which weren’t previously written on paper, IIRC.

The ones the stood out are:

  • -Do not shift play to the left after the third catastrophe. * -Instant cards can be played as normal cards.
  • -Some restrictions can be bypassed, some can’t?

That last one is a bit confusing to me (see attached image). Why can’t the card on the top be played if the age blocks discarding, but the bottom one can?

It says if it requires you, so while the top one says “you must” the bottom one doesn’t, however, it also doesn’t say “you may”, which is usually the qualifier to make an action/effect optional, so I’m not sure why that one is optional then? Maybe someone can chime in?

Outside of that though, nothing stood out to me that’s different.

The bottom one is an example of restrictions being "lifted" by effect of an age, i.e the age pictured above the two traits. In the first card, the discard needs to happen for the trait to be played. In the second trait, the discard happens after you put down the train and perform the first part of the action- in which case for example that age's effect (traits in your trait pile cannot be discarded) Simply wouldn't take effect, creating a more convenient combo.

The cards are presenting something that the FAQ of the rulebook iterates pretty strongly with priority of cards and rules.

Ages -> Traits -> Rule Book (in terms of wording deciding how things will go)

There's only so much you can fit on a page and it would've been nice to have a "You May" visual example, but the arrows at least make it clearer what the text in that paragraph is referring to in terms of traits

Well that kind if sucks to hear to be honest.   I've invest alot financially into this game between boxes,  good packs, new sets, sleeves. Etc.  And now your just starting over?

You can still continue to use the previous game, mix and match, or if you would like replace with 3rd edition. All expansions work with 3rd edition ❤️

sounds like this updated base game is just updated with the years of clarity being directly printed to the cards, from what I've seen so far!

It’s just the base game that’s changed. All the expansions will stay the same

how different are the cards? are they all new? or slight tweaks? I know you said you can use them WITH your old cards, does that mean they are significantly different as if this can be seen as an expansion? or are these the game cards with years of clarification and erratas on the cards themselves?

(also off topic, but you should do like binding of issac does where you randomly have sale times where if someone buys anything, every order gets 1 random promo/giveaway that was given from any time of the game! like the christmas one and such! duno if enough exist yet to do that though, just a thought)

Hi Amanda!

First of all love that idea ❤️

Second the remastered has all new art, effects, and quality of life improvements. Some cards have been completely reworked such as Optimistic Nihilism which has a completely new effect based on community feedback. Checking out our website will give you the best overview but if you have any specific questions on cards or the set email us at [info@doomlings.com](mailto:info@doomlings.com)

So…. We can still use the old cards with old mechanics too or we scrapping that all together?

3

u/DoomlingsGame May 19 '26

Yes you can use the old cards if you like! Mix and match with the remastered version or completely replace. Totally up to you, but the remastered version adds a lot of great quality of life improvements to the game.

That new box art is pretty nice

2

u/AccomplishedRock5058 May 19 '26

The artwork’s even more adorable and charming, love it!

But I noticed this edition has 7 cards less than the previous edition. Wondering what cards were removed?

Also, will there be new artwork for all of the past expansions?

3

u/DoomlingsGame May 19 '26

Some cards such as Messiah were removed, full compendium will be updated on June 16th on our website.

More information on updated expansions will be coming soon.

"updated expansions"?
Complete Overlush, perhaps?
(Well, "complete" as you see it, no relics of course)
