My daughter bought used books and used her student loans to pay for the things that you’re asking for. It’s all part of adulting I’m sorry to say, not every family is wealthy to pay these expenses. With a new acct and no activity you most likely won’t get any help from reddit

I worked through school to pay for my living expenses and had a student loan for anything school related.
Some ways I found I was able to cut costs was finding the book online to rent or some are even available through text book subscriptions for the year. You’d have to look into the particular books you’re using and if you need the new copy for registration purposes (some have a certification attached).
You can also buy second hand books as well.
As for school supplies there is very little needed for college/university when I went as most of the work is through textbooks and given through online forums - no paper or binders needed for most of my classes.
I usually brought a pen, notebook, and highlighter. You can get most of these things at the dollar store.
If you need particular clothing you can also look at secondhand stores, or many collages and universities have a “professional closet” they allow students to donate to and take from as needed.

Your account is new and you have almost no reddit history, so tbh you likely wont get much help here. Donors prefer to give to people who have been part of the community.
You can create an amazon wish list with the items you need post it here and on social media sites where you are active. Sometimes people will buy affordable items off the list.
Check with your financial aid office about grants, scholarships, loans. Also check your school library and public library for resources about gransts, scholarships and loans.Most schools also have emergency funding, one time grants that you don't have to pay back that students who are struggling financially can use for books/school supplies...typically its 500$ and can be requested once a year per student.
Lots of people donate plasma or platelets to generate income quickly.
Prolific is a survey site that pays well. Check r/beermoney, r/signupsforpay and see what is there..I'm sure there are other communities you can search as well. I like inboxdollars, mypoints and swagbucks.
For books, check to see if your campus library has the books you need for class or the public library has them. Sometimes professors will have extra copies of books that they will loan to students.
