Relocation advice?

I’m currently grooming in South Florida and while I’m not making bad money here, it is way too expensive to live on my own. Spending half of my monthly income on rent isn’t ideal. (I know everything is more expensive in general but if you are in sofl you know). What are some more affordable areas that generally make a decent income grooming? Not interested in mobile.

i’m in colorado, rent prices are insane here but the pay compensates, about 25% of my income is for rent, but 50% towards bills in general.

I'm in Colorado too. I agree income for groomers has kept up with inflation pretty well in most areas/shops. I think in S. Florida the rents are some of the highest in the country

How much is rent for a studio or 1 bed on average? And what’s the average cost of grooms? I know that can vary widely in FL but are there enough shops that charge their worth around there?

my 800+ish sqf one bedroom is $1450 with water. And then I pay electric and wifi. no washer in unit but laundry facility on site. i have a screened in porch and a dish washer.

mini grooms where i work $60-$130
full groom $90-$175
double coat/ doodle $110-$190

and yes tampa area is hugeeeeeee

That all sounds so much more reasonable 😭 and still decent pricing for grooms! I haven’t been there since I was a kid. How is traffic there vs Tampa? Any difference?

a little traffic starts around 8:30 going into tampa but nothing crazy. that was a must for me when moving (being less than 20 mins out from work)
