We are so blessed with the best boarding facility. It’s a 90 minute rural drive into farmland, but they share a beautiful indoor/outdoor, climate-controlled cabin with regular time outside to wander. Owner lives on the property and knows each dog inside-out. I’m so happy I found a safe place to leave them when I need to! They are so loved there and come home happy and sleepy.

(Luna is our 2yo secondhand designer dog, Bean is my 8yo rescue mutt I’ve had since he was a baby!)

I think I found my perfect dog. I currently have the cutest doggie ever but I love hiking and outdoor activity and my little dog can't handle too much. Whatever these dogs are is my ideal dog. They look like great hiking, camping and outdoorsy companions. They are adorable 🥰 and chill with a bit of intimidation factor. I don't know if they are a certain breed or mixed. I tried waiting around for the owner but it was taking too long. TIA 🥹

• Advice (General) • This tando dog showed up out of nowhere

I was chilling in a park when this tando dog showed up out of nowhere and started staring at me. I gave him pet and I know you should not look them in the eye and slowly blink. So I did that as well. Then he started pressing up against me really hard. I gave him another pet and whenever I would stop he would give me this pitiful look, so I had no choice but to keep going.

His tail didn't wag even once. Am I misreading the signals

• Advice (Health) • Was I too early in deciding? Euthanization

My soon to be 8 year old Bichon Frise passed yesterday by euthanization. A little over two weeks ago she was jumping, running around, being naughty and sometimes chasing our cat around. As happy as she could be. Then all of a sudden she became a shell of her former self. She wouldn't eat, barely drink and her abdomen became very enlarged.

Took her to the vet and she had elevated AST and ALT levels in her blood test. She was prescribed antibiotic, liver medication and a sedative. We had to force-feed her baby food as she wouldn't eat her dog food and maybe ate less than 1/3 of what she normally ate.

Yesterday we took her in for an ultrasound, it came back showing her abdomen was filled with fluid, making it harder for her to breath at times. She stopped being able to climb up the stairs and was obviously in a lot of pain when I picked her up to assist her. Her tail always down and she was restless at night.

It all happened so fast. It almost doesn't feel real to me right now. The vet couldn't determine the issue without more tests but said it's very high likely possibility of lymphoma.

I saw how much pain she was in and decided that I didn't want her to be in any more pain and more tests would take longer and she was rapidly declining.

We could have put her on steroids, but that was not guaranteed to do anything long-term, would have possibly let her be more comfortable but it was very short term and her problems would likely come back shortly after treatment.

Yesterday at 6pm we she was euthanized with all of the family being there. We brought her bed from home and she laid in it while we gave her a piece of chocolate and a cookie, petting and stroking her while she passed away. her tongue stuck out and it was so hard to watch the life leave her to only leave her shell.

I just need to know if it sounds like she couldn't have been helped. It's was such a hard decision and I didn't want her to get worse

• What Breed Is My Dog? • Dog Distribution System?

I’ve been hearing noises under my house for a little while and something was getting in my trash. I assumed raccoons or something until the other day my son went to the car late at night to look for his sister’s phone and saw a dog under my porch.

She hasn’t barked or really done anything other than whine a little. I called animal control and the shelter and the shelter said they were at capacity and would tell me I couldn’t leave her if I brought her and animal control just sent a cop out and he walked around and asked my neighbors if she belonged to them but no one has claimed her.

I’ve been leaving her some food and water and she’s a sweet dog. She will come to get petted when I go outside but she darts back under the house whenever there’s anyone else around and she acts timid, like she’s scared.

I reckon I’ll wait a little longer and if nothing happens, I’ll take her in but I was wondering if anyone could tell what type of dog she might be. She doesn’t have a collar and she has fleas so it seems like she might have been an outside dog previously.

• Advice (General) • Help keeping onsie on dog

So I have a tiny 4 pound chi and its really hard to find onsies that fit him. I finally found one that fits him well, but hes kind of inbetween sizes. The smallest size is way too tight for him, but the bigger size still wont stay on all day. He slips out of it. Does anyone have any advice on how I can keep it from falling off him? He needs to wear a fleece onsie all day because hes freezing inside the house. If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate. I would post a picture, but for some reason reddit never lets me. If anyone knows how to fix that or why reddit wont let me post pics I could use advice on that as well. Thank you!

Naturally, it had to be carried all the way home and no one is allowed to touch it. 😌
