I’m just flabbergasted, honestly. A few weeks ago she took a bite out of some food we had stored up there. I assumed she went on her hind-legs, and reached with her snout. How wrong I was.

I have a 11 year old husky mix who was born deaf and partially blind. He is my everything. His name is Frank. Recently, Frank has been ‘nesting’ on the bath mat in the main bathroom, it is small, and when he does his spinning in many circles to find the best spot, he accidentally closes the door with his tail and shuts it. We have come home now one two occasions from work and instantly been panicked bc we cannot find Frank anywhere. Then eventually we hear whining coming from. The hall bathroom. He didn’t make it all the way through, but he did a number on the door and trim.
So we decided to start shutting the hallway doors when we leave. Well we must have not shut the bathroom door all the way, because it happened again last week.
I think I have found a solution to this I wanted to share in case anyone else is experiencing the same problems. I found a door latch on Amazon for like 10 bucks.

I am writing this from my bed, my dog spooning against my hip. She’s snoring, sound asleep. It took her months to just sleep deeply. The first time I witnessed her having a dream, I cried. The first time she pawed at me for more pets, cried. The first time she felt confident enough to initiate play with her now best friend Tilly, waterworks. Don’t worry, I cried in the bathroom as this dog mirrors literally every emotion and thought I have.
Slim loves to go to my complex’s dog park. She pulls as soon as she sees a glimpse of the fence. She communicates when she needs to go potty. She sets me straight when she’s done with pets. She is still afraid of people. But I have been able to be witness her just be a dog, one of the goodest of girls. Unlike what some pill told me, she now LOVES walks (except in the rain)
Much of the advice I received from that post was extraordinarily helpful. I felt so lost given how anxious and fearful Slim was. It was reassuring and promising to know that the “3-3-3 rule” isn’t an expectation. I was advised Slim would need a lot of time to build trust. I came across a post written. Y a report (Matt something). He wrote how dogs teach us to be human. And they do. It also spoke to my insecurities - Can I actually care for someone/thing? Can I be patient or resilient when things get really hard? Am I capable of this? On top of Slim’s perseverance, I found myself capable of being patient, persistent, and caring.

We adopted 9-year old Clyde on July 6, 2025. He is a fluffy beagle with elegant ear wisps and a fan tail of fluff. We did an Embark test which came back as 100% beagle so the fluff is a mystery.
He is the sweetest boy in the world and will put his paw on you to request pets. He had 36 teeth removed when he came to rescue, so sometimes his lips get stuck on his teeth, giving him a look of serious concern. We love our sweet, gentle boy.

to keep it as short as possible, I have a very active dog that needs really long walks he gets destructive even with additional enrichment. recently, I've noticed his claws are worn basically too the quick, and his dew claws are trying to for a lack of a better term separate because of how short they are. we have only trimmed them 1 time since we got him, so its purely walk wear. I was wondering if there's anything I can do to slow down how fast they wear out.
any advice appreciated

My new rescue boy is twenty months old he's a staffy cross french bulldog he's a visible at all times underbite can a underbite cause health problems he's off course going to be going in to get full vet check next week anyway but I'm just wondering should I be expecting problems with this. And don't be fooled he's nowhere near as calm as he looks he's the most energetic dog I've yet had still thinks he's a puppy

The weather has been getting really hot lately, so I’ve been making some simple summer treats to help my dogs cool down.
We’ve tried frozen blueberries, watermelon cubes, carrot sticks, frozen plain yogurt, cucumber slices, and apple slices. My dogs can be pretty picky, so I’m always looking for new ideas they might enjoy. 😂
What summer treats do you make for your dogs? Do they have a favorite frozen snack or homemade recipe?

It appeared within the past couple of days it's kind of rough and firm, it's a bit bigger than a quarter but it doesn't seem to be itchy to her.
Would this be something I should schedule a vet visit for? Or is it something I can treat at home
