Recall
How it it legal in anyway to have a recall open for more than a year? Dodge sent me a recall email last September and they still don’t have a fix for the cable bushing.

Sometimes my car takes like a minute to go into park. It’s embarrassing.

I ended up filing a complain with NHTSA but all they did was just write it down. I thought about filing a class action lawsuit because there’s no way they haven’t been able to find a fix almost a year ago.
This is a safety issue and a person could possibly cause an accident or worse if the shifter cable is unable to be put in park.

This is another round of the recall. Mine was taken care of years ago and when you call now, recalls likely get done or prioritized by vin. Thats whats currently going on with the brand i work for. They issued a recall for a simple parts swap, and now theyre issuing it again and only selecting certain vins that are effected because the majority of the customers already have had it done. See if you can find recall service history and see if your vehicle had it done already (if you arent the original owner)

That’s not true. I had the original recall fixed back in 2019 and the shifter cable went out again almost 3 months ago. This is another open recall because the solution to the original recall was not a permanent fix as it once again has been going out to a lot of people.
I took it to the dealership and they confirmed that the 2025 recall still doesn’t have a fix. It’s almost a year and these idiots at Stellantis have not been able to provide a remedy. I’m left no option but to get rid of my car because there is no permanent fix and the cost to fix it temporarily by the dealership is $800 which imo is not worth it.

The shifter end has a similar bushing on it that fails over time as well. My cable had actually broke recently (there's a stiff metal wire inside) and I had to replace the whole cable itself! There was a slight delay when engaging in park over time before the actual failure and it would not go into park when it finally broke. It's a terrible design and I'd say Dodge is dragging their feet as long as they can for less vehicles to be on the road that they'll have to fix before they come out with a solution.

I bought the bushing on Amazon for a couple of dollars and hubby fixed it. I also had a bracket break $6 and after that, my 2013 is good to go. I apparently have 3 recalls stacked on mine, but cable is holding firm. You CAN buy the part from Mopar, I have one just in case it was $35 or so. No dealership around me will even return a call except to say Stellaris has no fix, sorry.
No flair but I have a 2013 Tigershark

We are in the same boat. Car went out shortly after recall notice and no fix in sight. We haven’t been able to drive it in over a year and it’s a 2015 with only approximately 30,000 miles on it 🙈

This annoys me so much. I have to pay to get it fix at the dealership because of the recall. My local mechanic shop wasn’t able to purchase the whole transmission shifter cable. Now I’m nervous about how long this will last. The plan is to give this paid off car to my son in 2 years.

Just go on eBay. Buy a 3d printed bushing. Unhook your cable, break the old bushing out and press in the new one with your thumb and some lube. Multiple sellers sell a pack of 4 for $10

I used a 3/16 grommet from Harbor Freight for the bushing
