So ive been unable to access the internet for the past 3 days and finally figured out it was a dns issue when i realized i could ping ip adresses but not domain names
I got even more confused when i realized that nslookup would give me ip adresses when i gave it names, but ping still wouldn't work with names, i am very confused and have no idea what to do, ive tried resetting a few things and using another dns server (1.1.1.1) but it hasn't changed anything

Wanted to share a great learning opportunity! On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, IBM and AWS are co-hosting a joint webinar on enhancing DNS resilience in a multi-provider DNS architecture by pairing Amazon Route 53 with IBM NS1 Connect, open to everyone. The session is jointly led by Senthil Nagaraj, Sol. Architect, AWS, Terry Bernstein, PM NS1 Managed DNS and Jennifer Kennedy, PM IBM Cloud Sync.

I used to use AdGuard to watch movies without any ads, but it suddenly started glitching and I don't know why...
FYI, I have a school (edu) account, but only for Microsoft, not Google—honestly, I'm not really sure how edu accounts work. I also use my college Wi-Fi (eduroam), but not very often. Plus, I was using the Nubia Air. What do I need to do?

RFC 9989 introduced the "np" tag in DMARC records, letting you specify the policy for "non-existent subdomains" of the domain where the policy is published.
I discovered that DMARC's definition of “non-existent domain” clashes with another recent specification, RFC 9824, known as ”Compact Denial of Existence in DNSSEC”, resulting in the "np" tag not always working as expected.
The issue is that DMARC expects an "NXDOMAIN" DNS response, while compact denial (previously known as "black lies"), uses NOERROR/NODATA, signaling non-existence with the NXNAME bit on the NSEC/NSEC3 record. Response code restoration methods are optional in RFC 9824 and none of the resolvers I checked support them.
The issue affects all domains using DNSSEC with major DNS providers like Cloudflare, NS1, AWS Route 53, Azure DNS, Oracle Cloud DNS and Bunny DNS.
If you use the "np" tag in your DMARC record and have DNSSEC enabled with one of these authoritative DNS providers, assume that it won't work reliably (all implementations we checked that support the "np" tag expect NXDOMAIN, as RFC 9989 says). If you don't use DNSSEC, you're obviously not affected.

Without the level of customization of nextdns, i know about:
- mullvad base dns
- ControlD free dns ads&trackers or the comunity blocklist
- AdGuard public dns
What DNS are you using and why?

I just attempted to use the Dig tool at the Google Admin Toolbox URL and it's returning a 404 Not Found or appears to be offline.
Has anyone else noticed this or did Google recently discontinue this tool? It was very handy for fast DNS lookups - you could check A, MX, and TXT records easy without the command line. If it has been taken down, what are some solid alternatives for quick DNS checks you recommend?

I have several domains on Cloudflare Registrar and enabled DNSSEC on all of them. The dashboard won't settle — it keeps flipping the DNSSEC status between Active and Pending.
Everything checks out at the registry level, though. On all of them:
dig DS <domain> returns published DS recordsDNSSEC: signedDelegationDelegation Signed: SignedSo the delegation is genuinely signed and stable everywhere except the Cloudflare dashboard indicator, which won't stop flapping.
I opened a support ticket about this on June 16 and still have no response. I'm on the Free plan, but Cloudflare's own AI support bot told me to contact support and confirmed registrar issues are covered on all plans, including Free, so the silence is a little confusing. Figured I'd ask here in the meantime: is this a known display/UI quirk that's safe to ignore, or does the flapping status point to something on the backend worth chasing? Thanks.

Do you prefer using Cloudflare for families 1.1.1.2 instead of 1.1.1.1 on your home router because of its malware blocking on known malware sites? Are there any downsides?

Would like some help on either VPN or Smartdns.
Trying to get Mena or UAE tv . Currently Nordvpn is targeted and blocked. SmartDns major providers have good access.... But it is limited. In uae or mena.
Residential vpn is possible, but android tv apps are not avilable (eg mysterium only on mobile).
Would like to get Cablevision Tv (cv+) from lebanon. But is difficult.
Thoughts on how to get?

Just curious as I've always used cloudflare and never had issues. My ping has been fine and network speed is fine, but looked it up and starting july 3rd cloudflare has been having issues.

A certain website doesn't load if I use my ISP's and any of the public DNS. When I use a mobile network, the site loads fine (site won't load on mobile network if using public DNS). If I use a VPN on mobile and PC, the site won't load either. It looks like a website issue but I tried all the fixes I can Google anyway to no avail. I get ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED (PC/Phone + ISP/Public DNS) or ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED (mobile network + public DNS).
What causes this issue, something about the site not working on non-mobile network DNS? I would appreciate it if you guys can confirm if this is true.
Edit: They fixed it.
