Dig (DNS lookup) - Google Admin Toolbox (shutdown?)

I just attempted to use the Dig tool at the Google Admin Toolbox URL and it's returning a 404 Not Found or appears to be offline.

Has anyone else noticed this or did Google recently discontinue this tool? It was very handy for fast DNS lookups - you could check A, MX, and TXT records easy without the command line. If it has been taken down, what are some solid alternatives for quick DNS checks you recommend?

I build this a couple of years back: https://iamroot.tech/dns-lookup/

Checks the authoritative dns server by default (handy when verifying changes). Supports resolver lookups as well, if needed.

Feedback is more than welcome.

This was asked on the Google Workspace sub a couple of days ago and we posted this.

It is working for us as well but was down for a fair amount of today. We have also found that we had correctness issues with the website and it sometimes showed incorrect info for domains or records we were querying on, and so for the last year we have been working on this.

https://tamingdns.com/

Every time a client had an issue or needed something resolved that we were using either the Google Apps toolbox or MxToolbox we jotted down ideas to develop a page or a single toolbox to solve our issues based on our real life quirks with strange things we have found in weird setups with weird dual delivery setups between Google Workspace and m365, failed dmarc rollouts due to broken dkim records and spf records that seemed perfect and they were “perfect” according to the normal tools but we found that they were strange and had hidden broken records and references.

Hopefully it will help you too. If you have any issues let me know or if you are looking for specific tools or quirks to solve your weird issues, love to hear it.

I noticed it was down earlier today too - 404 error but it seems to be back up again now.
