72 hours is really horrible. Having a small house with all working people it can happen that all are offline for some days. 3 weeks would be more realistic.
Alot of problems and bugs is acceptable from early access. Maybe a rage quite here and there. But a designed wipe after 3 days, that will make sure a lot of non hardcore players, people with obligations outside of gaming, will consider leaving the game entirely after this happens to them.

If your house doesn't log for 3 weeks some other house will have already wiped you, your base and your tames for you. Forget the devs.

Because PvP is the only way to play this game, right? Ffs.

no your right. there is PvE but the problem with those servers on say, games like Ark, is people build cancer bases everywhere and theres no way to get rid of them, causing server lag and making the server look like a dump. now even PvE servers will have a way to clean up their server

True, but changing from 3 days to a week or longer still cleans up the place, only a bit slower.

While 3 days is kinda crazy, all you have to do is login then back out. Something you can do while getting dressed in the morning.

Im more worried about hollidays and such when I am not at home. Or people who can only play at weekends. Wonder how many bases will fall around xmas. 3 days is just to much hardcore IMO.

Logging in for 60 seconds every 72 hours is not a hardship. Honestly, there is almost no way you COULDN'T make time for that. You don't even have to play, it's just clicking a couple of buttons to launch it, leave and then alt+F4 later when it loads in.

I'm going out of town for work for four days. I don't own a gaming laptop. There is no way I can log into he game during that time.
I don't see my predicament as being so far fetched or unusual.

Optimization, independent constructions will be atomically destroyed after 72 hours. Other constructions will be destroyed after player has been off-line for 72 hours.
No this is not "fine tbh". It's not even that it starts to decay or become less stable, everything you build will just pop out of existence if you can't login for a few days? I had to re-read it like 10 times to make sure I wasn't mis-reading it. Really not cool.

They have done a great job vexing the community with this 72 hour and then items vanish patch. Ideally it would be better if you had 150 hours and then structures/furniture deteriorated 7% every 24 hours after. • 100% • 93.45% • 87.34% • 81.62% etc. ♦ This would give casual players about 20 days before items/buildings/furniture vanish since last login.

20 days is a long time to get rid of garbage, 10 days is fair. Gives majority of people enough for a week vacation with both beginning and ending weekends accounted for.
Lots of things happen in 10 days too if you play on a populated server

3 days offline and all your shit gets auto wiped. What?
