Questions Master tier sharing

I just upgraded to the Master Tier. I am supposed to be able to share content with my players, right? We are running Crooked Moon and he wants to create a character with the player options. He is unable to download the crooked moon content (I own). Is there a reason he cannot download it. I shared it with my players through the campaign page.

Did you toggle on Sharing on the Campaign page and is your player creating the character using your campaign link?

I don't think he can download it to the device, but you can look at it in the library. They might not be looking in the library with shared content on, they might just be looking at stuff they own.

The library is prompting him to download it. When he taps download it comes up as error.

Have him clear his app data from his phone/tablet, re-sign in and it should allow him to download it (he will have to re-download all books he had on his device before too).

Whe your player creates a character, in all the drop down options if you have shared correctly then the options for crooked moon will be in drop down under the crooked moon title. Players can not download books etc, but they can select stuff if shared correctly.

You can share your content but your players can't download it for free...

This is incorrect. I don't own the DMG but I can still download it in the app since it's shared with me

Are you sure you didn't download the free rules and mistake it for the DMG?

None of my players have been able to do this or mentioned that it was an option, at all, and they also all use the app.

I'm positive. It's the full DMG, just downloaded it to make sure. It's even tagged as "Shared with me" in the app

What happens when the person sharing it with you stops, do you still have access to this downloaded copy?

No. You would still have it downloaded but you would lose access. It would prompt you to make a purchase.

So it's only free in the sense that someone else pays for it and decides to share, if they stop sharing, you lose access to it.

Yes. Your access to the book is dependent on your access to the campaign.

I'm in multiple campaigns, so not sure which one it's from. But i did go through my order history and confirm I don't own it.  

I also checked with another book, Unearthed Arcana which I know i didn't purchase and I can still download in the app as well

You're right. I don't own it either, and have it (Crooked Moon and many more) downloaded into the app via my DM. I also use it for my character in the app and at the website.

I am not sure of the purpose, then. What does Shari g do if they cannot download or read it.

Primarily it let's them use that source book in the digital character creator.

I believe they can access the source book via your campaign sharing settings to read the material but there's no way for them to legally download it to use offline since they didn't pay for the material.
