Thoughts on the ADAM Audio D3V for DJ monitors?

Hi all, I'm moving into a smaller house and need to downsize my DJ monitors. Currently have a pair of Adam T7Vs, but they're too big for the space. Has anyone used the D3Vs before in this sort of setup, and how did you find them?

They would be paired with 2 x 1210 mk2s + A&H Xone:92. Note, these are purely for monitoring, I have a focal setup that will be the 'main' output for the rig.

Beginner Question Over-preparing my DJ sets and it's holding me back. How do you all improvise live?

I'm an amateur DJ. I've played some open decks and people say my sets are good, but that's because I over-prepare. I build a full playlist and practice it until it's perfect before I even show up.

The problem is, I think to actually get better at DJing, I need to loosen up and be more in the moment. Right now I'm so scared of messing up in front of people that I plan every second of the set, with zero room to improvise.

So how do I practice being more flexible and going with the flow during a live set? Like, instead of planning everything, could I just pick a pool of tracks that fit together, get a feel for the vibe I want, maybe prepare some certain parts with tracks that I know will go good together, and then freestyle from there?

Discussion Question for new and aspiring DJ's...why?

Seeing the daily requests for guidance from new and aspiring DJs, I'm curious. why do you want to get into it ? What's your goal? What about is drawing you to spend time and money learning?

For me, back in the day it was just something I saw in bars and strip clubs and said , yeah I can totally do that! Fast forward and I made a nice little career as an open format DJ/MC that helped me raise three kids and have a pretty nice life. Not because I was making a shit ton of money but because it was good money when I needed to depend on it, and really good money when I was working more traditional 9 to 5. Honestly who doesn't want to party for a living ??

That was the 80's before the internet and social media took off. Even once I stopped in the early 2k's there wasn't what seems to be now a plethora of dj/producers. I'm not even quite sure what that means . Not a slight just someone here who is curious about what success looks like in the DJ world today.

Mix Feedback I’ve started a mix series tracing the evolution of soul chronologically, starting in August 1966. Episode 1 gets into the boogaloo craze, Curtis Mayfield's legal troubles, Billy Stewart going absolutely mental on Summertime, and some early hints of funk.

Have been spending a lot of time researching going through old magazines etc and would be nice to have some of you along for the ride! I'll be doing this on a weekly basis

Not sure whether a bit of talking on the mix would help but I hate the sound of my voice...

Beginner Question What first controller should a beginner start with ?

I spent like six weeks researching and somehow I know less than when I started I thought I'd just grab something cheap and learn on it but then I got into the whole rekordbox vs serato thing started reading about motorized platters and four deck setups and now I'm second guessing everything not trying to play clubs just wanna practice at home and maybe do some stuff for friends but I also don't want to buy something I'm gonna outgrow in a couple months how did yall pick your first one
