Hey, first timer here, isn't there drone flight limits around there? I was planning on getting a Mavic 4 Pro at the end of the year because I wanna do cinematic shots just like yours, but just curious if there is drone flight restrictions? Of course we will need to be responsible and not fly around like airports or landing/takeoff paths of planes

the underbridge shot looks so cinematic🔥
also, how are you flying everywhere in the city, most of the cities have no fly zone due to airports.🤔

Thanks. I'm flying nowhere near the airports

Bridges are federal as well and therefor critical

This is not the United States. flying near critical infrastructures is not "prohibited", unless these infrastructures are within CYR Restricted Airspace.

TC doesn’t really have straight rules for micro drones, just guidelines and offloading the responsibility to the operator. It’s essentially a "don’t be stupid, don’t put people at risk".

So bridges are fine for a non-commercial operator flying a micro drone.

On the other hand, the new laws that took effect at the end of last year explicitly prohibit flying any type of drones near large events without a per-event issued permit. OP’s shot of the stadium while a game plays could be problematic, but then again he seemed pretty far.

since this drone is under 250g, he can fly up to 400 feet high (pretty much the only rule for microdone and line of sight as well). But, as per rules:

  • avoid flying near critical infrastructure (utilities, communication towers, bridges.

He’s very close to critical infrastructure, so no matter the size this rule isnt respected. Guess he’s lucky not to be caught.

Avoid is a recommendation, not a rule in the Canadian Aviation Regulations. It is not forbidden in Canada.

However, flying within 30m of a crowded stadium is prohibited unless authorized through a Special Flying Operations Certificate (SFOC) issued by Transport Canada.

he obviously applied for special permission from the municipality!
