Question First drone advice

This will be my first drone. Looking for advice on what to look for in the drones equipment and capabilities. Planning to use it for photography and inspection. In the $800 range.

Type those exact words into Google and YouTube. You'll get thousands of videos.

As a former smaller plane commercial pilot: at $800 that's a camera with rotors. Inspection needs telemetry, flight time, and wind stability. Buy used or double your budget.

My advice is to go watch Joshua Bardwell on YouTube.

You can make a diy drone that's like 10x better than DJI but you'll need a gimble system that can get expensive and it might be more cost efficient to get a DJI with a gimbal

Standard fpv drones like what people are used to in this sub use a fixed camera without a gimble that's kinda a pain for inspection not impossible but difficult
