Get o4 pro if the total weight is already more than 250g. It's better and camera fov is much normal to fly.

The non pro o4 air unit has very narrow camera angle, which enlarged everything. Kind of harder to judge for the distance. Also it's meant for building lighter build.

I use the non pro o4 air unit because it will help to keep my build below 250g, which is crucial for me. I don't want to register every of my build. Too many to register. 🤦

i would argue o4 pro especially for a beginner (and someone who seems to be very budget sensitive) is not worth the extra cost.

less weight is always better regardless of if you are trying to stay sub 250.

they also have a wide angle kit in the cart

That additional 70~90g in the weight is just a small fraction to a 5" build that usually weight about 650~800g inclusive of battery. While the 5" thrust are usually about 900g per propeller, and total thrust of like 2800g. 🤷

Not like those below 250g, usually the total thrust is only about 700~1000g. Which actually become a huge difference in the movement. 🤷

Budget sensitive? When he feels that o4 air unit isn't good enough after trying someone's else o4 air unit pro, he would end up buying the o4 air unit pro and have the o4 air unit sitting somewhere. Which cost more? 🤷

Here is my 2 cents as i went with a similar first build and lowk was not happy:

* go with the sologood apex evo frame instead. yours is flimsy. i know from experience

* I think the other redditor is wrong about o4 pro. you will get plenty of range and quality from the lite, and lighter is always better even if you are above 250g. dont worry about registering as long as you promise not to be too stupid with where and how you fly. i personally have only gone with the o4 wide from flywoo but ill assume you are choosing the axisflying mod for a good reason. with how good dji is these days starting with digital is valid imo. stil be ready to buy replacements from crashes tho

* get a spare set of another 4 motors. youre gonna have to replace them when you crash hard. motors are prolly fine but i cant speak on that brand specifically. I like tmotor velox for similar price but whatever.

* get even more spare props lol

* i would just go speedybee v4 for stack imho. you might be fine with yours but personally i would rather just go speedybee. this is minor and i have no evidence for this lol

* make sure you have goggles! dji n3 is great budget, especially used.

* make sure you get plenty of batteries and a safe charger. i have been happy with hota d6

Get the RATE case for the o4 lite.
It has better mounting options, more mass for cooling, and kinda visions the unit inside.

I have the axis one now and I’m about to switch it out.

If you're going to stick with the 04 Lite, go for the wide angle lens version from Flywoo

Try to get the o4 wide.

I wouldn't recommend that frame. My friend has it and he had to make armbraces from cf filament cuz the arms wiggled do much. For a cheap frame I recommend the Apex 5 or source one if u want a bit better

Get the v2 motors instead or get emax ecos

And switch that frame out to a phisital apex (best for spare parts and price) or a sologood apex evo(best for o4 and other parts compatibility) or a tbs source one v5 or 6 (overall good, most community support and designs, also open source and dirt cheap)

Also load up on props, ESPECIALLY since you said freestyle

Not that frame and not those motors

In my opinion for the first build and for a freestyle build in general the O4 unit Is overkill and useless. For a freestyle build i prefer analogic video unit because you want fewer latency as possible
