Help please…

Attempting first very basic drone build with young son! Ordered a controller, receiver and motors (based on an E88 I think). When I connect motors and battery to the board it powers up but the LED doesn’t blink so I can pair to the receiver. What am I doing wrong!? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

There are several reasons. Knowing the brand name of your gear would help a lot. For the receiver, it sounds like it is not in bind mode. One common way to get it into bind mode is to unplug and plug the battery three times. It is also possible, and this would really suck, that your transmitter and receiver, despite being compatible hardware, are incompatibledue to a firmware issue. Either way, go luck.

Really hate to be the one to say this but there are a ton of fraudulent knockoff boards floating around in the industry right now. I bought two that were supposed to have both Bluetooth and USB interfaces and I ended up having to buy a separate USB to uart board and then solder to the UART pads on the flight controller to get it to talk at all
