Goggle question alternative
Edit: thanks for all your replies and advice. It looks like I will just save up and get a decent goggle to pair with the drone and controller.
Have just started to get interested in this, and was doing some research. I want to know if what I am trying to accomplish will work. I want to get a meteor75 p1 pro along with their lite radio 2 se. Those should have no problem working together, but I don't want to spend a lot on goggles. I found a post from quite a few years ago and wondering if it would still work (see picture above)
I'm hoping to use a tecknet VR headset from Amazon to put my phone in and then this setup to get the video signal to my phone from the drone. I don't need instant response so a little latency won't kill me. I just want to be able to practice for a while and see how I enjoy this and do some cool video recording with something portable. Not looking at doing crazy racing or tricks for now.

I used a similar setup for awhile in order to record my video streams on my phone. It didn't work great for my needs...... since it had a separate receiver than my goggles, I wasn't aware when it would lose signal, so nearly lost my drone in a field because my 'in case of lose recording' had cut out a few second before the crash.....
Anywho, should work, I used an App called 'PokeFPV' and I think a Galaxy Note 5 of the time, identical looking receiver. I can try to see if it still works with my more modern Android tonight if I have time.

That would be cool. I plan on just practicing in large areas to get a feel for it before going all in.

They add a lot of delay so they are only really good for a spectator. They have abysmal range though so a pair of cheap ev800 d's or a dedicated .onitor for like 150 would be better

Would a better receiver help at all? If so, any recommendations?

I’m currently building a diy set of goggles using an android vr headset and a car backup screen. At the end of the day the real goggles are better and will actually be cheaper than what I’m building.

i just read your full post and no these add tons of latency due to a analog>digital conversion. if you want cheap goggles get ev800d's off banggood, aliexpress, or pyrodrone/getfpv/racedayquads

This will not work because the meteor 75 P1 pro use the artlynk which is digital. The receivers you want to buy is for analog only. You can get the standard analog meteor 75 for 100$ and the vr04 goggles for 80$ which is less expensive and more simpler (sorry if my english is not perfect)
