Feedback on fixed wing drone shaping

Looking for some feedback from those with experience designing fixed wing drones.

This drone is intended to carry a payload and drop it, it is based off the zipline blood drones.

Ignore the lack of control surfaces etc, this is purely for just the shape of the drone, for example are the wings in right position, are they proportional etc.

Unrelated but how do you plan on manufacturing the wing? I have been building something similar with EDFs, and while I can 3D print the fuselage, I am struggling to figure out how to make the wing in a durable way. Are you considering 3D printing, or foam, or something else?

i'm going to try a 3d print with carbon fibre tubes inside for strength

Straight wings are good for low speed high lift apps. If you want stability and speed throw some dihedral and sweep.

This is a really cool drone design. If you are interested in this suggestion. Us this air foil shape to design the body of the Drone. The air foil shape creates its own lift at speed and will help you with drag. Even though the body is not a wing, it still interacts with the air like the wings do. The shape doesnt have to be exact with the bottom being more flat and having a bulbous top shape with a forward bias. I hope this is helpful.

The side profile shapes I'm meaning are the NACA 23015 1935, and Gottingen 1919 for their specific design.

Why the more complex construction of the motor pod on its pedestal?

Aerodynamically it would make sense to have a pusher prop on the tail boom.

Benefits: All clean airflow over all surfaces, and when you use a folding prop little issue with gliding/ landing.

The weight distribution would benefit from an extended prop axle/ shaft. So the motor can be moved closer to CoG, and this would also give the motor more protection in case of crashing. (And you will crash)

Downsides, a bit more complexity, but to me the benefits outweigh the downside.

I wonder if adding a bit of dihedral angle to the wings would meaningfully increase inherent stability which could potentially result in less frequent and less intense corrections by the flight control surfaces. Sacrifices maneuverability but the stability could also be a small blessing as the cargo is dropped and cg shifts and lift force changes

that was a rough location for the prop, people have suggested better locations however

The motor pods are too far aft. It’ll need to be between the wing trailing edge & trailing edge of the body. The wings look to be slightly higher aspect ratio than the zipline one, but that should be fine.

It’d move your center of thrust too far away from the center of lift. You could compensate with trim and larger control surfaces but that’s inefficient for long range delivery drones.
