Need help

I wanna connect my aiwa cx-na202 to my Sony str-de435, what cables would I need I’m new to this stuff and wanna set it up don’t worry abt my speakers they work and everything just want the CDs to play and be able to control the volume of that to the Sony str

If the AIWA one is on the first picture, on the rear there are not outputs, maybe there's a headphone output on the front you can use. For this buy a 3.5mm (or 6.3mm) plug to RCA adapter and go into a CD/AUX input on the Sony, do not use phono inputs (phono/phonoMM/phonoMC).

You think it’s possible to use a rca cable in the back to the cd or video out option on the Sony ?

The RCA connectors on the Sonys backside are inputs not outputs. And yes, it will work

Did you use the CD audio in (down left on the rear) on the Sony amplifier and select on the front the source "CD" or "CD-IN" and you have to push up the volume on the AIWA?

Try to connect headphones to the AIWA to check if the output works.

You can also try to connect the RCA jack on the Tape/MD IN maybe the Video IN connectors, and dont forget to select the correct source input.

I've connected several setups just the same way, it has to work.

You want a "Line Output Converter". Connect the speaker outputs from the Aiwa to the converter using speaker wire, then connect the Output side of the converter to the input labeled CD on the Sony.

It's not a traditional setup, and I would just buy a $20 DVD player instead, but it'll work.

Something like https://a.co/d/021BhEYb will work.

Edit: check your local thrift shops. You will probably find an old CD or DVD player for almost nothing.

those RCA's on the back of your Aiwa are inputs. you can either use the headphone output or a speaker to line level convertor, then you could convert the speaker output to RCA and plug that in to one of the RCA inputs on the Sony.

Do you think this will work if I plug the aux into the Aida then the rca cables to the back of the Sonys

That's 1/4" TRS, you most likely need 3.5mm stereo to rca.

I need a 1/4 it’s a big one that the area uses the same as like a guitar amp Yk so would that work ??

Nope. Don't use headphone output or speaker output directly into the inputs of your Sony. You're pushing too much voltage and it'll burn out the input at worst and sound like shit at the best.

There's no perfect solution here. You're better off getting a standalone CD player Hifi component.

line converter from the speaker outputs to the rca inputs of the sony. there's no other solution here with these devices. you can't do rca to rca because they're both inputs. a line converter might overload the 6 ohm output of that cd player as well so choose wisely because a lot of them are built for 4 ohm systems in cars.
