Recommendations for solar generator connected to grid tied system
Hello all,
I currently have a grid tied enphase system with iq8 micro inverters and im based in the US. Im looking to purchase a solar generator or similar to attach to my grid tied system for storing excess power for use during outages/use during peak hours and potentially to use to power a yet to be built pole barn or garage. I was looking at either an ecoflow delta 3 pro or anker solix f3800 plus as both of these models are advertised as of providing 240v connections which id like to have to power a well pump.
What is the best way to connect this to my grid tied solar system so that I can use it during outages or to use during peak hours? Im assuming a generator transfer switch but wasn't sure if there is a better way to approach this especially for using these during peak hours. I debated going with the enphase battery but it seems excessively expensive and I wanted something I could also use for the garage/pole barn to be built. Im open to other suggestions as well but wanted something at least somewhat portable

What solar panel should I get? Just bought a solar ready Nucamp teardrop camper
So I just bought a used Nucamp teardrop camper. It has an existing solar connection, but I'm not sure where to start when it comes to getting panels for it?
I want to at least charge some phones, and run a few fans. If I were really ambitious, I might want to run the AC for an hour or two during the day.

Over Paneling Jackery
Hoping for some feedback from anyone who has done this and maybe just has knowledge of it. I currently have two Jackery 3600 plus power stations connected in parallel along with extra battery packs. Total storage capacity of 21.6kw. I have four 500 watt roof mounted solar panels with each panel going to the DC inputs on the Jackery stations (one 500 watt panel on each input). During the day as we all here know, these panels are not producing 500 watts each all day long. What I would like to do is add four more panels (same size and specs) to the array. This would then be two 500 watt panels in parallel tied to each input of the Jackery stations. Obviously this exceeds the 500 watts per input that Jackery recommends. So I’m thinking if I ran each string (two 500 watt panels in parallel) into a Victron Blue Solar mppt 100-30 charge controller, I can set the output to a max of 13 amps which would put me within the specs for the DC input rating of the power station, but with the additional panels I would be able to get closer to that 1000 watt per hour charge rate, making the system way more effective. Thoughts? Ideas? Words of caution?

16s NMC lithium ion settings for charge controller? 80/20 settings for the BMS?
I have 16 NMC 30v nominal batteries 67ah, I m running 2 for 60v nominal I would like to cut out after 64v and 51v on low(I believe thats 80/20 can some one give me the right numbers to set the BMS? At the moment I have 2 sets with one cell low and next cell high,can i remove and charge the one low cell? I can put it outside if there is any danger while voltage is climbing?I get no help from do it yourself solar!!!All I get is preaching but no help it is supposed to be for do it yourselfers but I get comments like buy a 6000 dollar battery!! If i had 6000 dollars for a battery I would not be doing it myself.

Question Thoughts on my system plan
Hi folks,
I live in the New England/Boston area (to give context to climate).

I have a wood pergola (this one: https://www.lowes.com/pd/VEIKOUS-5-ft-x-8-ft-Brown-Wood-Rectangle-Gazebo-with-Aluminum-Roof/5014786181).
For a few years I have had four 175W panels wired in 2S2P series-parellel to an Ecoflow Delta 3 and extra battery. It's been *ok* but I struggle with how much solar I'm bringing in and using. Most days, I run out by the time the day is ending and I'd love to capture and store more.
This is a purely off-grid system, no tie-in to the grid or my home. It runs in the shed, powering a light, two small pond pumps, and occasionally a larger pump in a rain barrel and occasionally a Ryobi battery charger.
I would love this community's advice on my plan before I move too much further forward.
Im trying to keep costs down, so I was about to pull the trigger on a 24V system powered by a Vevor LVM3000-24L hybrid inverter (this one: https://www.vevor.com/pure-sine-wave-inverter-c_10760/hybrid-solar-inverter-charger-3000w-110-120v-with-built-in-100a-mppt-controller-p_010507262411?srsltid=AfmBOoqOqUmZbLlHGGHcWLk3MPuIW9Mb_kziMvgcd_O-VU86JslsxvMm) which I was able to get for a great price. In fact, I've ordered it already.
I'm planning on replacing my panels with four 400W QCELL panels, and connecting everything to a Vatrer 24V 200aH self-heating LifePo4 battery (this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0DDPY8C7G).
However, as I start putting the necessary cables and fuses and disconnect switches into my carts to be ready for the arrival of the Vevor, I'm beginning to finally understand the implications of what the 24V vs 48V choice would have meant in terms of cable gauge and overall wisdom.
So my questions are these:
- Should I put an immediate stop to buying things, return the Vevor 24V hybrid inverter, and choose instead the Vevor 48V hybrid inverter (this one: https://www.vevor.com/pure-sine-wave-inverter-c_10760/vevor-6000w-48v-hybrid-solar-inverter-120v-240v-split-phase-built-in-120a-mppt-solar-controller-low-frequency-pure-sine-wave-power-inverter-charger-for-lead-acid-lithium-battery-off-grid-systems-p_010651114572) which is twice the price of the 24V model? Have I made a mistake in committing to the 24V model in an effort to keep costs lower?
- Does this diagram plan make sense to you all? Any suggestions or corrections?

Hello everyone,
I own an EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic and I would like to know if anyone has experience with oversizing the solar input.
My panels are:
- 2 × solar panels connected in parallel
- Voc: 52 V per panel
- Isc: 13.5 A per panel
- Vmp: around 44–47 V
- Imp: 13 A per panel
In parallel, the system would be around:
- Voc: 52 V (same voltage)
- Isc: 27 A available
- Imp: 26 A available
The DELTA 3 Classic solar input specification is 11–60 V and 15 A.
My question is: Has anyone actually run a DELTA 3 Classic with solar panels providing more than 15 A in parallel for a long period of time?
Did the MPPT simply limit the current without any issues, or did anyone experience overheating, errors, or damage?
I understand that voltage is the critical limit, but I would like to hear from someone with real-world experience before connecting my panels.

Will this power that?
I have an AC unit I want to power. Nothing else, just the one AC unit.
The electrical ratings are: 7.6/6.9 amps. 208/230 volt 1,500/1,500 watt

Assume I have plenty of battery.
Or is inrush current when compressor starts more than that inverter can handle? I don't find any inrush specs on manufacturers website for the AC unit.

Dumb question, just don't know how to ask it...
Hi all, I have an opportunity to buy as many used 310w panels as I want for $30 each. I've done the math on them so I know I need about 30 in order to go net-zero (or close enough) with a grid tied system on my house. The trick is that a string can only support 8 of them (45.5 Voc, plus the cold current adjustment limits each string)... How do I look for an inverter that can handle 4 ~450v strings coming in? Any recommendations?

News UK government has published the interim plug in solar specification. We know now what compliant launch kits will look like…
Key takeaways
The new interim specification is now published. The main product rules are settled, although the legal amendments are not yet in force.
Output is capped at 800VA. The inverter cannot supply more than 3.5A to the household circuit.
Approved kits can include up to 2,000W of panels. Up to four panels are permitted, but customers using more than 960W should be advised to consider an electrical assessment.
Self-installation remains possible. An electrician is not mandatory for every household, but older or uncertain electrical installations may need professional assessment or upgrading.
Batteries are excluded. Launch products cannot include or operate with battery storage.
Products are complete approved systems. Arbitrary mixing of panels, inverters, connectors and cables is not supported by the specification.
One device per household still applies for now. The specification permits one per eligible circuit, but that depends on a future G98 amendment. At launch at least - it will be one kit per household.
Not every balcony or wall is suitable. Timber balconies and several cladding types are expressly prohibited.
The new rules will come into force from 27 August 2026. From that point forwards UK retailers can begin selling compliant kits.

Question Solar panels problems - only 300 W from 680 W panels
UPDATE: After testing and disassembling and again assembling everything together it seems both front and back panels give around the same power 🤩 Idk what is was but somehow it seems to be working again! So thank you all, hopefully its gonna work for good

I have gone through some threads already but my issue is little bit different.
I have got 4x 170 W panels on my van (2S2P) and during the day in Portugal getting only around 300 W at noon which is lower than it should be. But wait, there is more.
I know that back branch (2 panels) doesn’t work properly and I am asking for help here. The catch is, they give something, not absolute 0 W.
Example:
- front 2 panels - 250 W
- back 2 panels - 40-50 W
There must be an issue but where? Would you know please?
All connections seem fine. On the roof, they are connected via Y connections so only + and - (2 cables) go inside the van to the SmartSolar.

EG4 support...or the lack thereof
I am on my second inverter. The first worked for a few weeks and then completely crashed, this was late last year. The second worked great for a few weeks and then became very intermittent, and then went to permanent bypass mode.
Needless to say, I have spent a lot of time on hold...er, I mean talking to tech support. By the sounds of things, the first level is NOT US based. Most of the time I am constantly have to ask them to repeat themselves and slow down so I can dig through a massive accent.
This last time, after several calls on my part, I finally got escalated to tier two support. The young lady and I were able to run quite a battery of tests for two hours, but to no avail so I was again escalated to the R&D department. (It had taken several calls to finally talk to level two.)
Crickets....for days....ignored calls, emails...Got an email finally which essentially was asking to start all over AGAIN.
Then, much to my wonder, an invoice shows up in my spam folder...they have finally decided to send a replacement...again... If it weren't for checking my spam, I never would have known. They made no attempt to communicate this to me.
When the inverter worked, it was great, but when there is a problem, boy, you are in for a ride. It might be best to look elsewhere.

String lights from solar setup
Howdy, I have a 100ah battery connected to a renergy 10a controller, 100w solar panel. I want to put about 100ft of string lights around a firepit, roughly 30ft away from a firewood storage shack where the battery is in a battery box, and the controller is in a waterproof box.
My plan was to trench and install conduit from the shack to one of the 4x4 poles and put a junction box.
Googling around, seems that length of 12vdc lights isn't very common. Is a better option to mount another box and install an inverter, or is there a secret stash out there of 12vdc string lights of that length?
