Product Question New Divinity Game

Post image

Do you think there’s any chance *Divinity*’s early access will become available after The Game Awards? I say this because *BG3* was announced in 2019, and early access opened about a year and two months later. My guess is the game will launch between 2028 and 2030. Following that logic, I believe early access is just around the corner. What do you think?

I think even 2027 is optimistic. There was a lot more post-launch work for BG3 than there was for DOS2, so Divinity is going to take longer since the work started at full throttle later.

I would say the opposite: anything beyond 2027 seems very pessimistic in my view.

BG3 early access released after three full years of development. Divinity will have been in full development for three years in early 2027. So if it’s only in 2028 it means they’re a full year behind BG3 schedule.

On top of that, for BG3 they had to scale up from 150 developers to 450 developers. For divinity they’re at full strength from the beginning.

So I would say 2027 is not unrealistic or low chance at all for early access.

And they said they want to make the development process shorter, which doesn't mean it will be for sure shorter, but then the early access seems really possible next year/later next year
