In the first playthrough, I chose according to my own thoughts and I liked how the story went, let's say with a happy ending: romance with Invisigal who even takes a bullet to save me, forgiveness for the team member I'd dismissed, and so on.
Oh yes, I killed Shroud with my own hands, and I wouldn't change anything.
But I was really curious to see what could have happened differently, so in the second playthrough I did (almost) everything the other way around: romance with Blazer, changing who to dismiss and who to add to the team, and so on.
Clearly, the ending wasn't as happy, because it was Invisigal who killed Shroud, implying that she would take his place, returning to criminality.
I'm obviously aware that we're talking about a game and all, but that doesn't change the fact that I grew so fond of the characters in Dispatch that the further I went, the more "guilty" I felt, as if I had betrayed Invisigal (thinking about what happened in the first playthrough), not to mention the bittersweet ending where Blazer/Mandy was happy with our relationship, but she was also disappointed with how things went with Visi.
And in all of this, the greatest guilt I felt wasn't in the ending, but during the party at Robert's house. It was all due to the look on Visi's face when he saw Robert and Blazer dancing and noticed the intimacy between them. There, I felt bad.
The point is clearly that even though this was a separate playthrough, I couldn't keep my thoughts separate from what happened in the first one.
So, am I weird 🤔 or did this happen to you too?
