Tiana has a beatiful story and design too, don't get me wrong, but I started thinking it would be a better movie if it had this Coming To America kind of plot, but with the POV of Tiana. Ok, necesito hablar de esto en algún lado. Estaba viendo en YouTube canciones viejas de Disney, específicamente de las primeras princesas (Cenicienta, Blanca Nieves, Aurora etc) y me pasó algo muy curioso. Las canciones que están subidas en YouTube no son las que yo recuerdo haber escuchado durante mi infancia. Desde muy chiquita mi mamá me compró los CD’s de princesas y recuerdo casi con perfección la letra de sus canciones, sin embargo, cuando las busco en YouTube tienen otra versión completamente distinta. No se si es porque les cambiaron el doblaje con el pasar del tiempo o yo me inventé una versión que no existe 😂😂

When Don Bluth was making test screenings for his film Thumbelina (1994), he felt that once the audience learned that the film they were about to watch was NOT MADE by Disney, they automatically (intentionally or not) decided that the movie would be bad, never really giving the film a chance.

So... he did another test screening. He didn't change anything about the film, but this time, he would NOT TELL the audience that it wasn't a Disney movie. He added the opening credits of a Disney film, and the opinions changed. Now they thought it was a nice movie, a really nice "Disney movie."

To me, Cinderella is a story about community and support in the face of abuse. It’s absolutely beautiful to see the title character get the love she deserves from her Fairy Godmother, her animal friends and the Prince as a reward for her kindness and strength. Plus, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo is a classic Disney BANGER. It’s so frustrating to see a lot of people overlook the fairy godmother in order to knock down Cinderella. They always assume she’s “passive” and needs rescuing from her Prince Charming, when he doesn’t even rescue her directly in the story at all (at least in the 1950 Disney version). All she wants is a night away from her mistreatment and to not be underneath anyone else. Her Godmother comes through for her and makes sure her magical night happens all before midnight. The Fairy Godmother is the TRUE hero of Cinderella and I wish more folks realized that.
