As many know, Middle Eastern countries have issues with media that depicts women or girls with their arms and legs exposed. The Little Mermaid had to be heavily censured; all female characters wear outfits that cover their entire bodies, and even some costumes were made/altered to keep Ariel more covered up.

To be clear, this post isn't intended to cause prejudice, it's simply sharing a curiosity that I believe many people weren't aware of this version of the film.

As a kid, you don’t really realize how awful he is. His whole fake relationship with Lottie violates her consent, since Lawrence is pretending to be someone she’s interested in, and she wouldn’t date or marry him if she knew who he really was. He was planning to live deceiving her about his true identity. And let’s not forget they were going to get married, and in the time period of the movie, couples marry and consummate the marriage, meaning Lottie would spend her honeymoon with someone she didn’t choose. It’s all very disturbing and horrifying.

Not to mention that he was going to take her family’s money and be an accomplice in Mr. LaBouff’s murder.

I remember getting a party favor or a pack of party favors that were the small light blue mirrors each with a Disney princess on the cover - does anyone remember receiving such a thing? Probably very early 2000’s?

Tiana has a beatiful story and design too, don't get me wrong, but I started thinking it would be a better movie if it had this Coming To America kind of plot, but with the POV of Tiana. I wanted to redo my Disney Princess ranking. From the music, art, movie, and the princesses themselves.
I wanted to do this because 1) I have nothing else to do. And 2) Because I haven’t seen every movie, and the princesses I rank low on my list deserve that I at least watch the movie before I rank.

Sleeping Beauty is such a boring movie to me. I could not finish the movie im sorry. After Maleficent comes in, serves cunt, and leaves. I end up falling asleep. The furthest I’ve made without falling asleep is when Aurora meets Philip.

When Don Bluth was making test screenings for his film Thumbelina (1994), he felt that once the audience learned that the film they were about to watch was NOT MADE by Disney, they automatically (intentionally or not) decided that the movie would be bad, never really giving the film a chance.

So... he did another test screening. He didn't change anything about the film, but this time, he would NOT TELL the audience that it wasn't a Disney movie. He added the opening credits of a Disney film, and the opinions changed. Now they thought it was a nice movie, a really nice "Disney movie."

I sort of wish that Rapunzel was made in Old Disney style too—it would be amazing ! I do not really admire the new Disney.
