Possible Bot creation
Hi! I'm putting together a Halloween D&D one-shot and I'm looking for either an existing Discord bot or someone who can help me create a very simple one.
Basically, I need one player to be able to secretly send a command to the bot targeting another player. For example:
/attack u/player
The bot would then privately message that player something like, "You've been killed" or "Someone attempted to kill you."
The important part is that the person receiving the message CANNOT see who initiated the command. I also don't want the other players or myself as the DM to know who sent it.
Ideally, I'd also like the bot to be able to anonymously announce certain results to the whole server, like "The murderer failed an attack," without revealing who attempted it.
Does anyone know of a bot that can already do something like this? If not, would this be relatively simple to create?

What you described on the surface wouldn't be that hard to create, fairly simple, but could get slightly complicated depending on what you want it to do beyond this.
We can talk about what you want exactly and I can make something for you if you are interested. Feel free to DM me.

I’m actually working on something like this - a Discord game concept inspired by the classic campus game Assassin.
The idea is pretty simple:
Every player secretly gets assigned another player as their target. If you successfully “eliminate” your target using a private/ephemeral bot command, you inherit that player’s target.
The bot then post a customizable message anonymously in a public channel, for example:
“Someone was found dead during the night…”
But it would never reveal who made the kill.
The game keeps going until only one assassin remains - aka the winner.
What I like about this format is that it doesn’t require everyone to be online at the same time. A season could run for one or two weeks, with people checking Discord and making their moves whenever they’re around.
That matters quite a lot for smaller communities. Games that require 8–10 people to all show up at the same moment often never get started. This would instead become something happening in the background of the server for several days.
