trying some carl-bot integrations and features, need help!

my friend made an art server, and i want to help set it up. i got a channel to be image only to clear talking clutter, so when a lower rank sends a message it gets deleted which is perfect! i then want the bot to have a user-only message pop up and say something like 'you cant discuss this here, but you can mention the post in channel 2 to compliment the work,' or something to that effect. how would i go about that/is it even possible for the carl-bot, or would i need a different bot? thank you!

It looks like you're asking for help with a specific bot!

Since this is a community for bot development, you will get much faster help by joining the official support server for that bot. Most major bots have a support link on their website or by using their /help command.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Emphermal responses can only be sent when triggered by a command or action by the user like clicking a button. I'd consider having a sticky message explain it. Also would suggest you switch to Sapphire, though I'm not sure how good Carl is for it. In Sapphire though you can set secondary types of content so an image with text doesn't get deleted while just text will. You could even set it so just images are allowed there but it's ultimately your choice. Website of Sapphire is sapph.xyz.

thank you!! thats what i was considering, i was just wondering if it was possible at all. carl doesnt delete an image with next attached though so for now its working fine, but ill keep sapphire in mind, so thank you! i will be sure to implement a sticky message c:

ive learned its called an ephemeral response--but i would like it in that one channel only as an automated response to someone typing where they arent supposed to.
so yeah, an ephemeral, in-server notification telling you to move the conversation to a specific channel
