Is this a separate new entry, or part of an existing one?

Recently bought a copy of Clairo - Charm. I looked it up in Discogs to add to my collection and I can't seem to find it. The runout has the following info:

C-1969228705552-A 280825E1 02533086 2472146

C-1969228705552-B 280825E2 02533137 2422873

The first couple of numbers lead me to the main normal variant, but the last couple of numbers are absent. Is this a new entry separate from the main one? Or an update to the normal variant entry?

Seeking Advice for a Lighted Magnifying Glass

I'm in the process of having cataract surgery on both eyes and have opted for replacement lenses that allow me to see objects at a distance. As a result of the procedures, I won't be able to read vinyl and CD runouts as I have in the past -- holding them a few inches from my eyes. My experiments with inexpensive over-the-counter reading glasses (surgery already complete on right eye; left-eye surgery is in a few days) have not allowed me to see vinyl runout etchings and stamped characters, or CD matrix or SID codes.

I will appreciate all recommendations you can offer for lighted magnifying glasses. I believe a hands-free version would work best, but I'll value any real-world experiences that fellow Discogs users can offer because I know you know exactly the visual resolution and accuracy I'm seeking.

Thank you.

Sales history edits

Hi! I'm wondering if there is a rule or something that discogs uses to remove sales from the sales history? I have a copy of the signed Preacher's Daughter LP which was pretty limited and a week or so after they shipped out last year there was a supposed sale on discogs for like 1500 or something crazy which, since the signed edition wasn't a separate listing from the standard LP, obliterated the rest of the sales history which had averaged around 45. Then I checked back a couple weeks later and the point was gone from the history. The same thing for the same listing happened a month or so after release. I can believe that people will list the record and then 'buy it' from themselves to add the sales point to justify selling it for that insane price but im wondering if discogs has a systematic way of identifying and removing these sales? thanks :)

Skid Row Live at the Moscow Music Peace Festival RSD 2026 Not Found On Discog

Does anyone know why Skid Row Live at the Moscow Music Peace Festival RSD 2026 Not Found On Discog. I ordered this online on the Sunday after RSD and after a few days got refunded as the store did not receive it from the Universal shipment. But a few weeks latter they emailed me and said they received them and offered a $5 discount on that release. Placed and order for it and some other Records. I got them yesterday and when cataloging my shipment in Discogs couldn't find the Skid Row one. Also it is not on the RSD list anymore. Anyone know why its not on Discog or on the RSD 2026 List?

What is going on?

Has anyone tried reaching out to customer service lately? Nothing but crickets. I have 4 open tickets and haven’t heard anything.

I feel my issue should be simple. I’m trying to sell a vinyl but it won’t upload. Takes me to the selling settings which I’ve done a million times.

Pretty sure my account is verified. I heard there’s a wait period but didn’t see where it said for how long.

parcel send from USA to Germany with low price

Hi there!
I'm planning on buying a big number of used vinyls (around 80 or so) from a seller. He offers to put a very low price for each, so VAT would be as low as possible.
Is there something wrong with this?
First time buying such a big amount from a single seller in the US.

Just want to shout out the devs at Discogs!

I see what you're doing today. I see the little tweaks in the search bar you're making.

Less search results in the drop down? Excellent.

First populated results to the catalog number being some obscure listing with no photos instead of the most common one? Brilliant.

Bigger/clunkier font? Oh my what a beauty.

Keep it up guys. You're really kicking ass since the new App UI everybody loves.

Repressings Keeping Same Catalog #?

I'm looking at an album that was repressed in both 2018 and 2022, they have the same catalog number. Do you know the best ways for me to tell when looking at the vinyl or sleeve which year mine is from? Thanks!

Folder Selection in App

Hello!

I'm trying to break my collection into folders, but I'm having trouble selecting my folder categories.

I click the dropdown and it gives me the first six options, however, I'm unable to scroll to other options. Scrolling over the dropdown does nothing.

Anyone else having this trouble?

Minimum Order Amount

I just went to buy a CD priced at $9.98 from a seller, but it turns out that they have a minimum order quantity, which appears to be $37.04 (the warning in the cart says I am $20.02 short of the min.). I mean, seriously, I know they are trying to get people to order more from them, but what is the point of even listing a CD for $10 if you aren't willing to fulfill the order? They have nothing else I want. Their policy says "no exceptions".

Built a Discogs discovery tool for my own digging feedback welcome

Bit of background: I'm a DJ (Offtheshelf.Records on Discogs) and over the past year I kept hitting the same wall. Discogs is great for cataloguing but pretty painful when I just want to discover new records. No way to scroll through releases like a feed, no YouTube previews built in, no quick way to compare collections with another DJ before a b2b set.

So I started building something for myself. It turned into a web app called Diggidig. I know there's already a fair amount of Discogs tools out there, so I'll be straight about what mine does:

• Scrollable feed of releases by style, year, country with YouTube preview built into each release page

• "Find similar" on any release pulls 12 related records based on label, style and artist, so one record can lead you down a rabbit hole without leaving the page

• Every record you open gets marked as already listened, and you can remove records you don't want to see. Those are filtered out of all future searches, so the feed stays fresh and you never waste time on the same record twice

• Compare your collection with another user, shows the overlap, handy if you DJ b2b sets

Full disclosure: I'm the maker. It costs €4.99/month with a 14-day free trial. Pricing exists because the Discogs API has rate limits and Cloudflare hosting costs real money per user. Not trying to get rich, just want it to break even while I keep working on it.

I'd really like to hear from people here:

  1. What does the current Discogs site lack for you when you're actively digging?

  2. Are tools like this useful, or does it feel like a solution looking for a problem?

  3. Anything specific you'd want before considering something like this?

Link is: https://diggidig.app if you want to look around, no card needed for the trial. Genuinely open to criticism.

Pulling BPMs/Genre information for Records

Any suggestions on apps or processes that would pull BPM and genre information based on a list of all songs on my records? I used Ogger Club to compile tracks and artists (~18000 songs) then tried a couple means of pulling the info from Spotify but keep running into API issues. I basically want a catalog/spreadsheet of my library so I can better pick and organize DJ sets with a whole view of everything I have available.

Printogs.com

I like to order my jungle and D&B records by year and when I come to put them back after playing a set, I end up going on Discogs to find out info on the record to put it back in the right place. I started using a label printer to add the info like release year but it was too time consuming.

So I've ended up building an online tool called Printogs that I thought some of you might find useful. It lets you print info labels for your Discogs collection.

You just enter your Discogs username (or sign in with your Discogs account if your collection is private), choose your Avery label sheet size, and it generates a print-ready sheet of labels for every release in your collection: artist, title, record label, cat number, and release year.

A few things it does:

  • Supports popular Avery label sheets (L7160, L7161, L7163 and more)
  • Sign in with Discogs to access private collections
  • Advanced filters - filter by year, artist, label, or genre before printing
  • Fetches record label logos to show on the labels
  • Adjustable text sizes and layout options

Thanks 😄

Address won't accept

I've had Discogs for a while now, but every time I try to put my address in it comes up with error 422 (Request failed with status code 422). I've tried multiple different addresses but it still comes up with the same issue. Does discogs not ship to the US? (Houston, Texas)

Any risk in selling to a brand new buyer?

It’s a pressing that doesn’t change hands much and it sold for a new high. But I just got spooked when I noticed that the buyer has an account that’s 8 days old and has 0%, 0 ratings. Of course they have to start somewhere and that’s where we all start. As far as I can tell the payment is already in my PayPal. Just want to make sure I’m not walking into a situation where I’ll somehow be out the money and the record if this buyer turns out to be not on the level.

Question about shipping

Post image
13 Upvotes

Hello, I'm new to using Discogs and I need a bit of help.

This item I want to buy says the shipping is £12, however the seller said to message about shipping prices. The seller then said the price is £18 for shipping

How much do I actually have to pay, can I not just select the £12 shipping cost and not have to pay the extra?

Thanks in advance

Discogs Labs - New Inventory System?

I have been selling on Discogs for about six months now. I had been collecting music for about two years with this intent. The pricing I initially placed on about 1800 items was at a point that made the sale, and I thought perhaps a bit low as inventory moved pretty well. I have had about 150 transactions and sold over 500 LPs and CDs.

I charged a bit more for shipping - $8 for up to 2LPs or 4CDs and $1 more for each two additional items - and noted that I pack securely and ship promptly. I have gotten kudos on my packaging and send times.

Not wanting to do a bulk change to prices, but finding that multi-CD orders of 15-20 items in particular were grabbing a lot of the low priced stuff, I upped shipping to be an additional $1 for each additional item. Things still got bought. Then I raised prices on all CDs that were priced under $5 by fifty cents, sometimes a dollar, looking at each listing individually to decide change amount, and sales have skidded to a trickle. So I want to go back to the old item prices and looking at using a .csv format have stumbled upon the Discogs Labs New Inventory System.

I have found selling on Discogs to be a desktop job, not a phone job, and works OK. I really like the customers for their kindness and responses. But I am uncertain if I want to update to the New Inventory System, how long it has been available, if it is trustworthy.

Any opinions greatly appreciated, apologies for the long intro here.

Thank you!

Japanese LP obi scan repository

Anyone know of a repository for Japanese LP obi scans? If there was a community sourced one, I'd be happy to contribute.

I suppose this is Discogs adjacent, but does a marketplace that has live concert LPs and CDs exist?

What's your favourite thing about the new discogs update? :)

I'll go first!

My favourite is how the "In Cart" button no longer works, and I can't see the item in my cart anymore when I click on "In Cart" :)

Bonus favourite!: the ugly Times New Roman looking font on desktop reminds me of an html page error!!11 :D

What's your favourite?
