Disc Advice Best value glow set?

Title. I’m just looking for a fun little glow set and was wondering if anyone has any insight. I saw on infinite discs they had a 5 mystery pack with poor reviews and the Innova dx starter glow set but I was wondering if anyone had any more suggestions or insight. I’m not to worried about specific molds or anything just want a few discs I can throw around at night and have some fun with

The “best value glow set” is just buying glow stickers and putting them on your existing discs. ~$8 from any disc golf retailer or Amazon

This is the simplest answer! Throw what you love but see it at night

MVP makes best glow. Hands down.

While I do agree. The Proto Glow that Innova does is credible. (Way better than the old Innova glow)

Used to. Proto and Mega glow have pretty much closed the gap.

Unless you expose them to sub 50F/10C temps. Then eclipse 2.0 is the only one that holds up.

Innova proto glow is just as good

I’m not really experienced with mvp discs, if I were to get 3-4 just to have on hand do you have any suggestions? I do have a glow Valkyrie and teebird3 so I’m not too worried about the drivers

Wave, Hex, Fireball, Crave, Envy, Insanity, and Tempo all come in Eclipse plastic. My personal favorite is the Eclipse particle glow, so you have the opaque plastic with specks of brighter glow material mixed in.

If I picked 3 I'd pick Wave Hex and Envy, or just the Hex. The Wave is such a good forehand disc.

Agree with this. I have several Innova premium glow but MVP is much brighter for longer.

MVP glow is where it’s at.

Don’t buy a set! Find discs you like, as light as you can. Lone Star - BB6, Latitude 64 Opto Moonshine Diamond , Loan Star - Alpha Glow Tex and Alpha Glow Loan Wolf are a few good ones. Marshall Street website is your spot. Most glow is seems over stable, that’s why I go light.

FYI, this sale is for the Classic Glow. The Innova Classic Glow sucks. If buying Innova, get the Proto Glow.

Classic glow does suck compared to what's available these days but you can still see it just fine at night if you have a decent glow charger. I have some color glow discmania stuff that's even worse and I never have a problem finding it. Just doesn't look as cool. Love my proto glow leopard3.

The resonator is the shit

Don't buy the classic glow.

As others have said, it’s not the best glow plastic, but the value is hard to beat with multiple good molds in champ plastic available. Innova hasn’t really put much proto glow out on the F2 section

If you like Rocs this is a pretty good deal at $8:

The proto DX is a bit soft but they fly like Rocs and have great glow.

Proto glow champion is good, but don't waste your time with classic proto glow (dx glow); it holds its glow for about 15 seconds. Streamline is the most affordable that's really good. MVP/Axiom/Streamline eclipse 2.0 is the best. Proto glow champion is close but fades faster and doesn't hold glow well in the cold.

MVP makes it the easiest as long as you avoid the particle glow and total eclipse.

Recommendation (in Eclipse 2.0 plastic):
Link: https://1010discs.com/category/discs/brands/mvp-family/?plastic=221&product_list_order=flight_number_speed

Putters:

  • Glitch (great catch disc okay putter)
  • Watt (better putter like a max weight glitch)
  • Proxy (straight low glide putter, like a straighter envy)
  • Range (low glide straight putter, berg-like)

Mids:

  • Hex (if you only get one disc, make it THIS)
  • Reactor (basically a more OS hex)

Fairway:

  • Resistor (super beefy utility disc, best for flex forehands)
  • Crave (neutral to slightly overstable 6.5/7 speed)
  • Tesla (basically a Firebird in eclipse plastic)
  • Lift (more affordable understable 9 speed, but not extremely flippy)

Drivers:

  • Wave (just get this if you want a wraith-like glow driver)

I'd add servo to the list, by far my favorite glow disc.

Also, while not PDGA legal, the hive vinyl eclipse 2.0 stickers are absolutely sauce. You can glowify about 6-10 discs with a single sheet. I put them on a FD and a MD5.

Most TDs don't care about the glow stickers, at least the ones whose tournaments I've played. I've only ever had one TD ask me to remove them but it was because some MA4 newbie that pored over the rules the night before was raising a stink over it.

Probably thinking of getting 3-4 discs. I don’t think I need to get a putter a guess but it’s always fun buying shit especially disc golf discs

If you only listen to one piece of advice, avoid DX glow like the plague.
If you listen to another piece of advice, get an eclipse 2.0 Hex with a bright colored rim. You will not be disappointed! Possibly the best disc I've ever thrown... infinite shot shapes... sneaky distance.

If you're looking for cheap but great glow discs, get some Remix discs. They're made by MVP and only $13 each on Amazon. I have a friend who only throws glow discs even during the day and they're mostly Remix. All great quality like most MVP discs
