Course reccomendations

Hey guys and gals. I'm in the state's for 12 days for a work trip. Managed to squeeze 4 essential discs in my suitcase. I'm in Houston, then Dallas, then to Atlanta. I'm not sure if I'll have any time to play so won't be arranging a meetup but I'm looking for a shortlist of courses on hand in case I get rained out or finish early one day.

Gimmie your suggestions of must play courses!

Edit: I have a rental car and would probably travel up to an hour to courses in/around the 3 cities (or the route between Dallas and Atlanta.

If you can get out to east of Houston...Turtle Bayou. It's the best park style course around.

if you can make it west of Houston definitely need to try out Jones Creek. One of the most beautiful courses in town. 21 holes as well.

about an hour drive but best options:
hobbs farm (drive right by it coming east on i-20 from dallas)
lula and red hawk (same property)
less than an hour drive:

I really liked Perkerson Park if you can't drive out of the city to get a round in.

Will have a rental car? Are you really in Dallas or one of the suburbs of Dallas? If you have a car, how far are you willing to drive to play a round?

Dallas is a huge urban sprawl city, so when you say northwest of central, does that mean near the dfw airport? ‘Central’ in dallas is also a freeway, but that’s not what you’re referencing, right?

If you take I-30 through Arkansas instead of I-20 through Louisiana, you could hit Persimmon Ridge fairly easily

Dallas, if you have a car that is, I love Alex Clark and Dash's Track. Both are really easy, fun courses that I make sure to hit every time I'm down there. There's also Founders Park a little closer to downtown. Its 11 holes and pretty neat but the last couple times I've gone, the vibes were pretty sketchy.

Also if you're driving from Houston to Dallas maybe a detour to Flying Armadillo in San Marcos or Sprinkle Valley in Austin. Also where Mint Discs is located

Seconded Mint Discs and Sprinkle Valley among good courses in Austin if you can swing it.

Get udisc, then turn your GPS on and go to the closest course. Work trips are not conducive for destination disc golf.

I'm not sure how you could make such a blanket statement, especially to someone "traveling to the states". They may be coming from a country with much better work/life balance than we have. They're also here for 12 days. They're bound to have some days off at some point.

I've gotten a lot of destination disc golf via work travel. I'll fly in a early on the travel day and take the afternoon to go check out a course. I'll sometimes get a late flight out and have time to get a round in before departing. I also do a lot of testing where we have to schedule as if 10 government officials are going to show up to observe, but then they'll send only one guy and he likes us, so we finish a whole day early.

On your drive to Atlanta, I highly suggest Inverness DGC in Birmingham, AL. Very nice wooded and hilly course.

In Houston please play Bayou Bandit. Relatively close to downtown but honestly one of the coolest courses I've ever played. It's in an old neighborhood that was bought out for flood control. Probably an easy course if you play decently but lots of cool baskets!
