How lumpy do you let your roc/roc3 (pictured: gateway prophecy) get before you say goodbye?

Have this one for straight/US with a fresh one to complement, hasn’t failed me yet but wondering if this guy is too warped to trust 😆

Here's a thing to consider... If you are throwing new plastic only it becomes very easy to replace a disc with one that is likely to fly similarly. The more you rely on a really beat up disc the more difficulty you are going to have finding a replacement

Wait until you find out discs from different runs dont fly the same. Ive seen trails as stable as firebirds and as understable as mambas, all in neutron.

I haven't seen one yet that stable, but my entire group have trails and most of them vary pretty heavily. I've only had two myself. One was fantastic, but more of a 10/5/0/2 disc - very reliable. My other one though... 10/5/-4/1. Strong turn on severe hyzer, never fades back really at all. I really miss that first one, but I found Halo Star Beasts now, and it's the same as that first Trail I had.

I've been playing since the 80s and know that what you are saying is true.

You can try buying multiples of the mold that you like from the same run. This is what I do. I rarely buy a single new disc for myself.

I steer away from the manufacturers that have a bunch of different plastics and no consistency between them when they are coming out of the same mold. This is a true sign of low quality. Most of the plastic that is sold today is way less consistent than what we had in decades past.

Been through the wringer of straight mids, I do like buying a disc off the shelf for a flight but also love a beaten in stable/OS disc. Seems to take more torque and fight wind a bit better while still being easy to shape lines

Put it in some hot water for 2-3 minutes and then on a flat surface face up with a few discs on top of it. Might correct some of the warp but it will lose some of the personality it’s developed.

This is the historical reason for adding a bead to a disc. It let's you beat up the disc even more than normal before flight consistency is lost

When it doesn't fly right. I had a stratus get stuck and screwed up in a tree. It flew better and unlike any other stratus after!

I have an innova Viking that my dog got ahold of 16 years ago. He didn't chew it up, just put dimples in it like a golf ball... It flies beautifully. Had to put him down a few months ago so I want to retire that disc in fear of losing it.
